First up is "Take You Back" which is a straight up mixture of breaks, disco and acid, starting out with a jangly guitar line over punchy kicks and snares, before dropping into a hefty 303 line. And what's more - it WORKS! Topped off with some looped vocals, this one's peak time fodder to get guys and girls moving!

Flipside "Bulldozer" takes (as the name suggests) a more heavyweight approach, drawing more on their big beat and rave influences with some beefed up breakbeats and low-slung live sounding bass. This one's part Chemical Brothers, part Fatboy Slim (circa 1996), bouncy and punchy, and a vocal that rides the beats perfectly. This is one to do damage to sound systems and set parties right off!"

Jimi Green is the Psytrance project of Jonas Kalkreuth from Germany. Throughout his life music has been a loyal companion either by playing multiple instruments, being surrounded by musicians, or listening as much as possible, always being eager to find new inspiring musical ideas. Once he discovered psychedelic trance, he knew the possibilities of musical expression would be endless. After years of experimentation, trial and error he found his own unique interpretation of psychedelic music. Over the years he released tremendous amounts of tunes with his two-man project Duke & Gonzo. After years of composing music together, he felt it was time to explore the realm of psychedelic music on his own and see what will happen once he got down the rabbit hole. Heavy influenced by all kinds of music this project is driven by funky psychedelic soundscapes, groovy basslines, and hard-hitting drums, creating a unique sonic experience which will definitely get your feet moving!

We're back with the boys from Latvia for our 73rd iBreaks release. Under This give us a double A-side showing two different sides of their production stylings.

"Let Yourself Go" leads the way, and there's no messing about - it's straight in with a big rolling breakbeat, a throbbing low end bassline, and a pulsing, growling, metallic synth that really sets the tone of what to expect. A switch up in the bassline after the halfway point raises the energy and makes this one pure peak time.

In stark contrast, the Under This boys flex their deeper, groovier muscles on "Attraction" which is built around a Nile Rodgers flavoured guitar riff over speaker busting beats and bass. The addition of a female vocal lifts the vibe, rounding off this disco breaks tune to a tee.

The last couple of decades have seen Church emerge as one of the underground's most interesting sound designers, groove makers and synth wizards. From melodic soundscapes to industrial techno under
a range of aliases, he can do it all, and often with a deep thinking perspective that adds real depth to the music. 

Barr, meanwhile, last appeared on the label when remixing back in June. He has also landed on Krankbrother and Nofitstate, runs his own Portable Minds imprint, and is also a close member of Sasha’s Last Night on Earth family. His hardware-centric sound is always rugged and real.

Church’s opener 'Splitting' is a scintillating and luxurious techno track with an angelic vocal drifting like a cloud amongst silvery harmonies and melodies. A driving bassline powers along the groove
and ensures you're lost in a reverie. 

Jody then offers up 'Collusion', a darker track with acid gurgles underpinning the icy hi hats. It's deep techno for the dead of the night and is hugely atmospheric.

'Dissociated Process' is the second Church original and another exquisite showcase of his ability to pair heavy grooves with delicate and majestic synth craft. The rubbery drums provide the rhythm
while the keys and deft melodies drift past up top with a real sense of beauty. 

Last but not least, our feature premiere - Barr's 'Under the Rain' - rides on an expansive and cosmic broken beat groove with plenty of astral pads and starry synths unfolding in the wide open skies above.

These are four well crafted, high class melodic techno tracks that brim with futurism.
