Artiste reggae aux influences atmosphériques, Digital Lover rend hommage, dans son deuxième opus, à la culture Dub en confiant les pistes de son 1er EP "Derangement" à un musicien féru du style : Olivier Blanchard aka The Dubmaker. 

Ce nouvel EP, baptisé “Derangement Dub”, propose une nouvelle lecture des morceaux de Digital Lover à travers des versions dubbées enregistrées en live au sein du studio de The Dubmaker à l'aide de ses nombreux appareils, comme le veut la grande tradition du Dub, à l'instar d'artistes comme King Tubby ou Lee Scratch Perry. 

Comme une seconde naissance, "Derangement Dub" donne un nouveau souffle aux chansons du 1er EP.

Reggae artist with atmospheric influences, Digital Lover pays homage, in his second opus, to the Dub culture by entrusting the tracks of his 1st EP "Derangement" to a musician keen on the style: Olivier Blanchard aka The Dubmaker.

This new EP, called "Derangement Dub", offers a new reading of Digital Lover's tracks through dubbed versions recorded live in The Dubmaker's studio using its many devices, as is the great tradition. Dub, like artists like King Tubby or Lee Scratch Perry.

Like a second birth, "Derangement Dub" breathes new life into the songs of the 1st EP.

Artista de reggae con influencias atmosféricas, Digital Lover rinde homenaje, en su segunda obra, a la cultura Dub al confiar los temas de su 1er EP "Derangement" a un músico aficionado al estilo: Olivier Blanchard aka The Dubmaker.

Este nuevo EP, llamado "Derangement Dub", ofrece una nueva lectura de los temas de Digital Lover a través de versiones dub grabadas en directo en el estudio de The Dubmaker utilizando sus múltiples dispositivos, como es tradición en el gran dub, al estilo de artistas como King Tubby o Lee Scratch Perry. .

Après Bordeaux, Grenoble, Marseille/Aix, Lille, Rennes, Dijon/Besançon, et Avignon, ce nouvel opus présente 17 artistes de l'Est de la France, entre Strasbourg, Colmar, Nancy et Metz.

L'artwork est signé Irie Design, le mastering Subsquad Prod (et Oddwave pour la track 16).

Comme toujours, la compilation est téléchargeable gratuitement sur notre site internet, mais vous pouvez faire un don via Bandcamp pour nous aider à pérenniser le projet !

Subsquad Prod present the eighth part of our serie of compilations, the CITY SQUAD. Each part will present the dub makers of a city (and its surroundings) through a compilation of exclusive tunes available for free download.

After Bordeaux, Grenoble, Marseille/Aix, Lille, Rennes, Dijon/Besançon, & Avignon, this new part is dedicated to "Grand Est" area, and presents 17 producers between Strasbourg, Colmar, Metz et Nancy.

The artwork is realized by Irie Design, the mastering by Subsquad Prod (except for the last track mastered by Oddwave).

As usual, the compilation is available for free download on our website, but you can donate on Bandcamp to support us & help to perpetuate the project.

Entre Jamaïque, Angleterre et France, on y retrouve douze collaborations avec des chanteurs et musiciens légendaires tel que King Kong, Queen Omega, Lone Ranger, Ranking Joe, Matic Horns, Oku Onuora ainsi qu’une nouvelle génération d’artistes talentueux comme Prince Théo, Cookah, Stranjah Miller, Nicky Silk, Denham Smith ou encore Rassi Hardknocks.

Des productions qui résonnent déjà depuis plusieurs mois dans le monde entier sur les sound systems les plus réputés de la scène internationale (Jah Tubbys, Iration Steppa, OBF et bien d’autres).

Iron Dubz is back in 2020 with a new album "Tuff Like Iron".

Feeded by the sound system culture, the foundations of reggae, and nowaday's digital sounds, this new opus is a melting pot of the influences and inspirations that have forged the identity of Iron Dubz.

Between Jamaica, England and France, you can find twelve collaborations with legendary singers and musicians such as King Kong, Queen Omega, Lone Ranger, Ranking Joe, Matic Horns, Oku Onuora and a new generation of talented artists like Prince Théo, Cookah, Stranjah Miller, Nicky Silk, Denham Smith and Rassi Hardknocks.

Those productions are already resonating for months around the globe on the most famous sound systems of the international scene (Jah Tubbys Iration Steppa, OBF, and many others).

Militant messages, percussive rhythms, synthesizers and deep basses all mixed in the pure dub tradition, this album will delight dub and bass music addict.

"Tuff Like Iron" invites us into the universe of Iron Dubz and transmits the energy that characterizes his live performances. A powerful and uncompromising album, that must be played loud!
