From the very beginning UM has longed to be a vinyl-kinda-label, and after 3 years of work the day has finally come! I’m delighted to unveil the first UM Records 12” - the start of a new irregular series of vinyl only releases, continuing our ethos of quality deep house music from the finest producers. The debut slice of vinyl features a hand picked crop of familiar names to deep house lovers. 

Opening with one of the hottest collaborations right now, BiG AL and Rishi K. featuring Blankita, Damelo is a twisted blend of moody bassline and funky grooves that just has that essential UM sound - bright, moody and that all important need to move to the beat as standard. Marc Cotterell featuring Doreen Younglove sees Cotterell in a harder groove than many of his releases, graced by the vocals of Younglove the track builds with a euphoric mood and glorious piano keys. On the flip side BiG AL goes it alone with the big n bouncy Pero Tu Nu Sabe with its flickering Spanish heart and sultry vocals. Wrapping up the 12” is Deep Active Sound with another strutting affair. Classic Deep Active Sound grooves with the deeper dance floors on it’s mind.

'Mascarilla,' DDR's first release, is a bit like a journey, a trip, and an epiphany, all rolled into one. The new release by Schaller, 'When They Come,' has so many high points that once one begins digging into this deceptively complex gem, repeated listening will only add to the mystery and flavours within. Dark atmospheres and  synths weave in and out of a song worthy of classic synth pop legends, anchored by spare but driving rhythms. Truly a masterpiece in short form!

DDR003 : Schaller - When They Come (Original Mix)

Combining the subarctic musical climate of classic German new wave with the hypnotic vocal driven thump of electro-house, 'Storm' is a slow-burning, carefully controlled maelstrom. Hamed's first DDR release heats up the more it chills.

DDR004 : Seif Eldin Hamed - Storm (Original Mix)

This truly one-of-a-kind release is kind of like completely winning at channel surfing: perfectly balanced washes of past and future house, the classic strut of classic R&B-fueled disco, and minimal. Sandra's soulful upfront vocals enhance this stellar production into a truly classy new level. For house and nu-disco lovers, 'My Destiny' is not a track to be missed.
