Ahmed El Gendy AKA “Gendaiskii” was born on 26th October 1988, in Cairo, Egypt, Raised in a family with a multicultural background and diverse musical influences, during his childhood, he  was exposed to different genres, ranging from Rock and Blues to  Electronic & Deep House, Indian, Oriental & Persian music and Sufi beats. 

Gendaiskii showed interest in in music and especially the Ethnic beats and tunes to which led him to explore and play different traditional Oriental, Persian and to mix them with western beat instruments such as Daf (Tambourine). Later, he became particularly interested to blend the Oriental, Turkish and Persian tunes with Electronic Music which led him to learn DJing 

During 2005, he moved to reside in the magical land of Sinai, Egypt where he was exposed to and obsessed with the Nomadic tunes of Sinai Nomads, during his stay between 2005-2009 he updated his ears library and added the Egyptian Nomadic tunes to it.

Gendaiskii moved to settle in the Kingdom of Bahrain (Arab/Persian Gulf) during 2014 where he was exposed to the diversity of the mystic and fusion blended sounds of the Arabian and Persian music, since then, he supported various artists within the region.

His sounds are influenced by his musical roots and upbringing, embracing the ethnic & nomadic sounds from around the world and introducing them with a modern perspective, evolving fusions that can transcend  time and place, his sounds are influenced by his favorite producers who have a similar approach in embracing raw and primitive global nomadic sounds, those producers are, Amram Solar, Armen Miran, Belly Esteban,  Estray, Gio Israel, Hraach, KhaiKhan, NU, Lannka, Sander & Stephane  Salerno, Stanisha, Rovshan Ismalov AKA Shan, The Soul Brothers,  Usif, Valeron, Vike Armen, Zone +,

Gendaiskii also supports various labels, including but not limited to, Souq Records®, Lump Records®, Balkan Connection®, Baikal Nomads®, Cosmic Awakenings®, Downtempo Rituals®, Sweet Musique®, Urban Cosmonaut Radio®, and many other labels.

He intends to release a series of (28) sets under name "حروف" pronounced as “Ho/or/roof” meaning Letters in Arabic Language, each set name will be introduced with an English name but with a missing English letter compensated with the similar phonetic letter in Arabic. 

“حروف”, intends to offer musical journeys and storytelling tunes that connect the audience to mystic and fusion anthems, vocals, and middle eastern beats that trigger raw emotions, of longing and of homecoming, connecting us to the core of being Orientalists.
