The shifting sands consume the dense shrubbery, suffocating the life out of the green pastures. The keeper shudders as a brittle voice oscillates from the sunken figure. 
"Time stops for no one, keeper"

Surveying its damage the figure returns through the rift with its words hanging in the air.
The  keeper on its knees gasping for air  repeats the inferrence of the sunken figures message of his past and future self:
"they're watching."
