Suspended within the dark space of experimental bass, where the intimate and wicked coalesce with the mysterious and surreal, the forces of good and evil play out in the opulent soundscapes of ‘The Parallels.’ Drawing upon the grandiose atmosphere of a sci-fi thriller and backed by the kinetic influences of wave-styled dubstep and halftime, this evocative release from Pacific Northwest producer Aether State straddles the dystopian void while drawing listeners into a psychic realm of bristling drum work, gritty basslines, and raw, otherworldly synths.
