This is a live Ecstatic Dance set recorded in 11 July 2025 for Movement Night full moon special, an intimate gathering and offering by different practitioners in Singapore. Grounding into Earth and wisdom across lands and cultures, we move towards expansive trance states and oneness.

This summer, Above & Beyond released ‘Bigger Than All Of Us,’ their first album as a trio in seven years. In this exclusive interview, two members of the group, Tony McGuinness and Paavo Siljamäki, discuss their 25-year journey in electronic music, from becoming vocal trance’s most in-demand remixers to starting their labels Anjunabeats, Anjunadeep and Anjunachill. We explore collaboration, production, songwriting, remixing and working with vocals, and talk about the role that SoundCloud has played in creating their Anjuna community and inspiring new creative directions.

This is my live recorded set from Singapore's Burning Man edition of the Fire Monkey, edited with some special indigenous raw goodies at the end. Really loved the vibes of such an event, and most certainly these are the kind of gigs I want to be playing at, should I be Djing live outside. Perched on the 3rd floor of a playground overlooking hoardes of conscious people in open air, with fire dancers and painters accompanying, the stage was set for a chill out, spiritually inclined tribal set. Dr Foo Live Spiritual Sunset Progressive - The Aurora Journeys / Saturdaze (22 April)

I had the privilege of curating a live journey for a beautiful group at Freedom Dance last month, piecing together a set that facilitates deeper awareness and connection to soul in body, and allowing a moving meditation guided by progressive hypnosis, tribal grooves, ancient synergies. Thankful for the beautiful people who turned up, contributing a collective energy that yearned to penetrate deeper into soul essence, celebrating personal power, moving through blockages, releasing tensions and connecting to higher vibrations.

This is a reconstructed live set capturing the energy and vibration of that beautiful night, along with carefully layered frequencies, nature sounds and ethnic/tibetan instruments for healing and relaxation.

Dr Foo Live set @ Freedom Dance(June 2017)

With an opportunity to curate an extended live 3 hour set at last week's amazing T Party at Owl Bar (SG), I purred with progressive delight. Even 3 hours is too short for us progressive DJs. With a balanced approach, the mix entails the various elements of authentic being. Starting off deep, sensual and melodically ethereal as you've come to expect, we then peel deeper within into the roots of being, embracing the bliss and the shadows as I make a sumptuous return to Coldharbour in the latter hour. Some familiar tunes in there from my various progressive house and trance staples, and a big big shoutout to reminisce scene of 2008 at the end, as well as how inspirational Markus Schulz in his founding years was to us. 

As artists or souls we evolve as we discover new layers or lenses but we never lose that integral core of being, that deep (and dark where necessary) pillar of support for flowers to bloom. It was great to connect to that again, for the flow to just be. Balance is the key to progression.

Dr Foo's 3 hour 'Return to Progressive Harbour' live set @ T Party (28 July 2018)

Thoroughly enjoyed playing this set from the soul space of cosmic unity. Asked by the organisers to 'bless' and open the night for Pranava, a progressive and psy trance themed night. Pranava means "Cosmic Sound" - Om - the sound that everything in the entire of existence makes if one hears it all in totality. This mix is a soul stirring trip across some amazingly lush and deep psychill and ambient tunes, as we journey progressively into deeper and expansive states of consciousness and new beginnings. Enjoy the journey and mind travel. There is some absolute magic in the ambient, downtempo side of trance, such as the stuff from Carbon Based Lifeforms which is richly inspiring - fusing artistry, soulful humanity and cosmic wonder.

Also shoutout to my soul sistar Sage, who did some enchanting live vocals (couldn't record them in this mix) during the set impromptu, adding to the vibes of the event.

Ambient Progressive Trip (Dr Foo Live) ~ Pranava (15 Sep 2018)

Our 30th chapter comes as a prestigious and unmissable pack that renders homage to a past EP of the Sudbeat factory: Japanese Snowbell by Hernan Cattaneo and Soundexile. This release has a very particular flavour and it is composed of two tracks that will also be playlisted in Hernan Cattaneo's new compilation for Renaissance.The first track of the EP is a remix signed by one of the most talented producers of the global electronic scene, a name that has been part of the Sudbeat family since its dawn and that boasts releases on the best labels out there: the Tel Aviv born Guy J. Once again his unique and personal touch is easily recognizable thanks to a solid swinging groove in which background oriental melodies rise naturally and fluently up until a dreaming breakdown in which energies seem to soften. But it's just an illusion. The drop is behind the corner, ready to make this hymn-like melody explode in a way you won't easily forget.On the B side, Hernan Cattaneo and Soundexile refresh their original track slowing down the beat and creating a syncopate rhythm, perfectly fitted with the original main melody and enhanced by a hot bass line with an acoustic touch, the warmth of which creates a unique atmosphere in this downtempo track that once again proves Hernan Cattaneo's and Soundexile's great skills in the studio.

sôfrēē *RISE* Ecstatic Dance at Yoga Barn

AYO’s sound is taking you on a journey into a world of dreamy soundscapes, drone subs, small creaky details, long evolving pads and slow beats. Through scandinavian forests, white mountains and northern lights into a world where we communicate and connect without words. By sampling sitars-violins-cellos, modulating FM synths, incorporating field recordings and playing around with raw data and noise, AYO attempts to create a timeless bubble of calm atmospheric sounds, that gently yet persistently makes ones mind and body drift towards a fundamental earthly connection.

AYO is the solo project of Julie Schønherr Rosengreen. Julie has been playing the violin as a kid both playing classical and a bit of folk music, but also composing her own and playing around with different combinations of melodies. As she grew older she began appreciating electronic music and later on started composing her own tunes.

- Not long after she startet producing, she got her first festival gig in Denmark and have since then been active in the Danish chill scene, playing at festivals like Senpati, Sensun, Shiva Spirit and multiple events. Abroad she has played in countries like Nepal, Morocco, Germany, Spain, Lithuania etc. This includes festivals such as Freqs of Nature, Transition festival and Gaia gathering. Currently she is studying for her bachelor in Sound Design at Sonic College in Denmark. But earlier she has also been doing electronic music and VJ courses at Frontsession in Aarhus and Engelsholm College for Arts and Music.

This second part of Prognosis episode 24 infuses the tracks and experiences I have played in recent gigs before the pandemic as well as my myriad of influences as an artist, and drives home the opportune moment for us to work with our darkness or shadows during this period. Trips down memory lane as well as a mix of genres featuring additional spotlight on tasty downtempo tracks that I have used for grounding at various events, leading into a hypnotic frenzy of middle east inspired tribal prog percussions as well as some familiar progressive trance & Coldharbour classics.

Prognosis 24 (Part 2) - Embracing Darkness

Sek Sheng, also known by his artist name ‘Dr Foo’, is a sound meditation facilitator, musician and DJ who holds space and prescribes music for healing and integration of deeper aspects of the self. He has immersed in and been trained in sound healing, yoga, meditation and music production in an ever evolving journey in the past 10 years.

Dr Foo believes that sound is a universal language that can re-awaken our innate power and connection with all, and serve as a fun yet sacred medium for healing and understanding. His journeys emphasise the importance of owning our darkness before true healing and expansion can occur.  

His sound healing journeys interweave live therapeutic instruments (singing bowls, harp, melodic drums etc) with electronic music (hypnotic synths, binaural beats), nature sounds, ethnic music and mantras across cultures. It is a reflection of his journey starting as an underground club DJ in Melbourne to immersing in yogic journeys in India & Bali, and then realising the power of sound for therapy.  

In recent years he has curated soundscapes for yoga and meditation events, full & new moon sound healing journeys as well as ecstatic/conscious dance events.
