Based in Rotterdam with Dutch and Kurdish roots, DJ Shahmaran finds his musical beginnings with @klauwcollective, a platform centering Queer POC folks. Like most of us he felt out of place the majority of his childhood. While restlessly moving from Sofia to Istanbul and back to his homebase in The Hague, DJ Shahmaran sees the importance of unifying and supporting local communities through dance, music, organizing and creating spaces of relationality. Since the focus of KLAUW club nights went beyond the dominant assumed importance of the DJ, his exploration of sound is marked by an eclectic taste and style of mixing that puts importance on the raw elements of improvisation.

Focusing on energy rather than genre, DJ Shahmaran draws inspiration from rave, jungle, juke, electro; anything and everything carried through breakbeat rhythms. He is particularly inspired by the euphoric elements of house, pop, and UK breakbeats while contrasting them with the dark elements of electro and other hi-tech percussive genres. Having a seriously trivial attitude to mixing in general, his mixes are overwhelmingly high in energy marked with episodic moments of reflection. Named after the myth of Shahmaran, his intention with mixing is to lure you into her cave filled with nocturnal critters and together embark on a dramatic journey through escape, ecstacy, and love; the groundwork for you to dance away the contradictions of life.

Coming from the bass, dubstep, jungle and grime genre Shannon from Munich is now leaning towards more experimental forms of bass-centered but also genre-defying music. This shift occurred because she is looking for spaces in sound that make it possible to stress the power that quiet and off grid sounds can have on the percipient’s body both in and outside the club context.

DjSport has the pleasure of inviting Dj Amore to join this month´s physical activity on the airwaves. They go on a bumpy kayak tour with DjSport leading the first hour and Dj Amore taking over the second. 
DjSport invites the listener on a stretch between tension and release, selecting moody, bassy shaking sounds. 

Based in Venice, Dj Amore delivers versatile sets that ranges from very raw and fast beats to emotive trancy tunes. His selection oscillates between bass, hard dance, breaks and soundcloud edits. You can catch him playing regularly at Argo16, where he has an active residency.  
With maximum edge control, he takes us for this mix on a route with turbulences that leads to rapids, offering an escalation in bass while keeping his romantic touch.

'The title of the newest release of FOR. suggests that our contemporary collective fantasies are trapped in an imaginary vacuum space, or closed-circuit in which the possibility of any alternative looks immeasurably distant. In that sense, the raised fist of a disembodied protagonist by Vera Romhány on the cover of the mini-album is an unequivocal call for a unified protest against the void of our futureless present. But the recent EP of Ábris Gryllus and Miklós Farkas is not only a symbolic gesture of such agitation but also a comprehensive summary of their long-term music collaboration. Ever since their early releases, FOR. functions as a FORum of their shared interests in techno-dystopian sonic worlds and brutalist sci-fi visions evoking various technologically advanced, machine-dominated future scenarios that, by the time, increasingly resemble our contemporary reality. 

The carefully designed sound effects of the new tracks, often inducing sharp noises of some nanotech devices or dismantled futuristic weapons, are almost always counterpointed with harsher sound textures, bold basses, and asymmetric rhythm structures. Accordingly, the recent EP Vacuum also aims to embrace various topics, such as politically engaged movements and militant aesthetics, monotonous labor and dehumanization, neo-industrial corporations, and virtual frontiers of future geographies that have yet to be drawn.'
