But he wasn’t entirely satisfied by this and felt an urge to make space for music outside of clubs. So in 2020, he and friends DJ Wrestling, Jan Loup and Humtsi created Aïra (@airatoulouse), the Promised Land of his spiritual father, H. P. After a long wait, Etang Brulant is absolutely stunned and delighted to bring you serbian musician Zhe Pechorin and her new solo release, « Boundary Lessons ». After several appearances on Various Artists these past months (Amek, Minor Adjustments...), a 20 minutes live jam released on Ōtium and a cassette on Holy Geometry two years ago, « Boundary Lessons » seems to crystallize the mental universe and her thoughts network in a touching and highly personal way.

Using deep pads and pristine synths drowned in an ethereal reverberation without ever slipping into a cacophony of lost or forgotten frequencies, the melodic composition of Zhe Pechorin demonstrates a calm and peaceful state of mind, yet torn apart by an overwhelming melancholy, sometimes subtly pulled out of its torpor by noisy addings and the discrete trespassing of damaged leads. Through the listening of the whole album and the meaning of titles, one can feel a strong sense of loss ; almost a mourning process or a heavy nostalghia, adhesive to the skin and the mind and dangerously craving for recognition. Homesickness of an unknown time, of an unknown land, of an unknown past - or a real and more painful impression of regret, one can choose the shape of its interpretation.

'The title of the newest release of FOR. suggests that our contemporary collective fantasies are trapped in an imaginary vacuum space, or closed-circuit in which the possibility of any alternative looks immeasurably distant. In that sense, the raised fist of a disembodied protagonist by Vera Romhány on the cover of the mini-album is an unequivocal call for a unified protest against the void of our futureless present. But the recent EP of Ábris Gryllus and Miklós Farkas is not only a symbolic gesture of such agitation but also a comprehensive summary of their long-term music collaboration. Ever since their early releases, FOR. functions as a FORum of their shared interests in techno-dystopian sonic worlds and brutalist sci-fi visions evoking various technologically advanced, machine-dominated future scenarios that, by the time, increasingly resemble our contemporary reality. 

The carefully designed sound effects of the new tracks, often inducing sharp noises of some nanotech devices or dismantled futuristic weapons, are almost always counterpointed with harsher sound textures, bold basses, and asymmetric rhythm structures. Accordingly, the recent EP Vacuum also aims to embrace various topics, such as politically engaged movements and militant aesthetics, monotonous labor and dehumanization, neo-industrial corporations, and virtual frontiers of future geographies that have yet to be drawn.'
