From growing up in Pennsylvania to moving to NYC, Puerto Rican producer, Luis Aponte has been known for being one of the most influential drummers of his generation and part of PA hxc band JESUS PIECE.
It’s natural since his young age that, LU2K, his dj & producer alias, was experimenting music through electronics and finding his way into bass, hardcore or breaks. After years spent behind the drums, he is now spreading his music in the Electronic scene with his unique sound and aesthetic.
LU2K carries a strong musical background and culture, but also an energy that is demonstrated on any dance floor, through his last releases and Dj sets.

We are extremely proud to welcome him on 99CTS RCRDS with his new & second release : "FUCK REAL LIFE".

This is a first of many releases for myself. A milestone if you like. This song is inspired by how lonely Kaonashi a.k.a No Face is in the famous anime, Spirited Away. 
I want to use this and look back on it at the end of 2022 to see how far I have progressed production wise. If anyone wants the song feel free to message me and I can send you a copy for whatever purpose.

“I am always fascinated by tracks that generate energy and emotion especially in cases that there’s a fundamental idea/formula like melodic or rhythmic structure that is repeated throughout that piece of music. So, with “SPLASH” I felt that urge to make something similar. I started by recording a plain bass sequence and built the whole thing from there. Repetitiveness is somehow hypnotic and can create and emerge trance-like Balkan festive emotions/vibe.“

Marseille imprint Minuit Rapide return to the fray with yet another pulsating EP, this time from Brazilian producer Kue with Nada Pra Ver.

Spanning 5 tracks, the EP blends styles and codes of progressive trance with Latin bass influences, resulting in an engrossing tribal energy that lies heavy on its percussive foundations and hypnotic & evolving melodies.

Our featured premiere 'Frenzy' typifies this with its commanding kicks, overlapping snares and trance inspired synth work.

The full EP lands on May 30th on all major platforms. 

'Kue was born and raised in the far north of São Paulo, Brazil. His work in electronic music is rooted in research into the sounds of the urban periphery, blending pulsating rhythms and psychedelic atmospheres that reflect his early references of years going to reggae soundsystem and hardcore and punk shows. He also draws inspiration from his Indigenous roots, which he proudly honors through his artistic practice.'
