This song was written as a revolt against Guidoism...I grew up in Elmont, Long Island.  A haven of Guido culture was widespread throughout my town and neighboring towns like a pandemic contagion...picture the pseudo zombie flick 28 Days Later and replace that viral horde with rabid cocaine fueled Guidos!!  So I wanted to break free from those Horrors and began listening to Post-Punk bands like The Smiths & Echo & the Bunnymen.  However, the industrial Goth scene soon followed thus you can hear the driving percussion in this opus and the pounding esoteric bassline.  Love how this song is short in the realm of like Ramones' or Misfits' brevity technique.  It packs a wallop while getting to the point, hence, keeping it short & sweet with a few buckets of sweat to boot.  Enjoy Cretins!!  And don't forget to twist ur windshield wiper ducts perpendicular of ur car so to splash them Levittown Guidos with wiper-fluid right on their smug faces.  Oh, what a lovely fond memory it is sum 2 decades ago when I wrought vengeance upon those Disco Posers!!  LOL TO DA GILLS YO...!

Disabled Disco Man

This is the first rendering of BTV and I scrapped it thinking the second recording was more viable or accessible which proved to be true yet at the same, not true.  This version is riddled with raw angst and more passionate vocally while the polished up version has more going on musically and vocally but kinda loses something along the way.  I guess the template propagated by Industrial Rockers of the early 90s is a good one to follow.  I'm referring to the "Less Is More" concept and it works very well here while still being a smidgeon progressive.  Let it blast ur ears off, yo...after all, playing it loud & proud while cruising is a "Necessary Evil"! 

Behind The Veneer

I suffered the same plight with this opus as I did with Behind The Veneer.  I recorded a second version that came out more B52s style and I'm quite happy with that rendering yet there is something visceral and complete about this lo-fi offering.  It captures that quintessential rawness I spoke of previously.  It's a little sloppy but within that "belting it out" vernacular, there's a natural feel which grabs ya and takes ya on its journey.  It's like you don't have to even put it in words...the way it feels speaks for itself versus the second version which also feels great but has an almost forced aesthetic of commercial value which it need not have although that commercial appeal can't hurt it, at the same time.  I'm blathering on madly now so I'll shut up & you just enjoy the zany silly feel of this Goth Punk Disaster!

Luv Potion 666 (raw mix)

Before death metal or thrash or any metal/punk genre that leaned toward guttural grindy vocals, there was stuff happening in the mid to late 80s by bands like Killing Joke, Coil, Wire, Big Black, Skinny Puppy, Throbbing Gristle, Scraping Foetus, Controlled Bleeding, Front Line Assembly, My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult, Revolting Cocks & Ministry.  Although I'd rather not mention my fondness for Ministry due to how awful they are now & have been this terrible since the departure of Paul Barker, I still must observe their contribution to the experimental industrial electro-rock landscape of the 80s & early 90s.  Henceforth, here lies my opus of fuzzy vocals and trendy horror film samples on top of a soundscape of electro-fueled synth-bass-lines and ethereal derived noisy guitars & synths & a pounding arsenal of ballistic drums.  There's even an homage (a nod, per say) to the kings of synth-pop, Depeche Mode, in Tongue Tied's finale.  I hope ur ears don't bleed thus listen with caution!  LMFAO or cackling madly, if you will~~it's all good  ;-)

Tongue Tied

This was the one that couldah/wouldah/shouldah cemented for me a career as a recording artist, songwriter & performer.  To this very day, I have family, old friends & complete strangers hounding me down with criticism about missing my calling.  Yes, they are all correct.  I did in fact miss my calling.  I guess if Anakin Skywalker could be a real person than I'm him (minus slaughter of innocent children & trying to kill best friend).  However due to a lethal myriad of recreational drugs, alcohol, food addiction (later becum Morbid Obesity) & a poor choice in intimate partners (wicked 'black-widow' chics who suck blood & ravage souls-yet I not blame dem or anyone for failure), I had fallen from grace & what stood to become an illustrious fruitful career was robbed from me forever.  Having said that, at least I have all my original recordings that I built from scratch & postured & preserved over the years.  So here it is in all it's clever Irony: FROZEN FLAME...get it?  My life is like a frozen flame...a dream forever trapped...forever frozen.  Well, I could thaw it out & stop whining cuz I'm not exactly done yet~to be continued then~and then~and then! [Dude Where's My Car_NOD] ;-)

Frozen Flame

The Cure versus The Police or maybe more so Sting's early solo stuff...and wallah!  Facial Eclipse was birthed by the rejection of a super gorgeous Goth chic model who lived in Syosset & was so fucking anally retentive ass-backwards in her perception of anything.  Well thanks you unforgivable twat, I have this lil ditty of a pop-massacre-piece...still luv the fruity guitar parts after all these years...there's an innocence here that got lost somewhere along the way which has to be expected, right?  Whatever...I'm just glad I have something in my musical cache which is even fruitier than Al Jourgensen's With Sympathy LP.  In the immortal words of my "Workaholics" pals: NICE!!!

Facial Eclipse

Sonic Youth was in the shizzay during this dig, yo...no FX, no production of any kind except layered tracks of raw playing.  Improvisation is of the essence here.  I gave license to free-form invention to sustain a palate of sound art purely conceived with Rickenbacker guitars.  Like a Jackson Pollock painting, there are no mistakes...this is a journey of sonic vernaculars intertwining...semantics of noise sculpture having a dialogue in audio manipulation.  Glenn Branca was also quite an inspiration for his guitar orchestra spoke to me in volumes.  There's a slight FX moment at the end just cuz I couldn't help myself...yep, I'm a studio FX Whore!!

Guitar Glue Contours

Recorded during my time at Suny Purchase.  A school that appeals to pretentious alternative larks who think their shit don't stink cuz they just bought the new Fugazi album.  I survived the treacherous carnage of Purchase for one semester.  And during that rather tedious period, I did lots of sessions to occupy my time, hence, my dorm room was transformed into a recording studio.  Worm Food is a seductive death rock track that should appease the darkwave emo chic & mope rocker dude of the status-quo Goth sub-culture community.  Enjoy with a frown...or a smug pallor~

Nothing to say about this nonVox piece.  I love the thick Guitar Riffage and the chorus drenched Bass Line.  Thanks to The Beastie Boys for the sample used on the Intro.  Sometimes getting away from vocals is exactly what the Doctor ordered...a magical thing happens.  It's like letting go and just coasting on a surf board through mad waves free from the monetary shackles of society.

Shoreline_Wave_Froth

This song reminds me of a time when I was very intimate with the chronic...it replaced everything: Friends, Sports, Girls, Sex and an overall desire to succeed.  The grayest area of my life is when I submerged in Cannabis...24/7 mad trees!  I kinda miss it though...music played a huge role in the herbal sessions.  My imagination was soaring to different uncharted territories (not saying it was better just a lot of fun).
