A popular tune, quite unlike some of Satie's more experimental works, this originally debuted with rather frank, erotic lyrics for the time; this is, of course, an instrumental version. It is very much a waltz, with an ABACA structure (plus a very brief intro and an equally brief coda). This arrangement (largely from Sky Guitar, although with a few very "special modifications of my own") moves the piece to G major rather than the original C major, but there is a *brilliant* version of it for guitar by Sébastien Llinares on YouTube that really does an incredible job at capturing all the nuances and details of the piano version -- a version that requires bigger hands than I have, even with my short scale Córdoba!
