Having considered cosmos consciousness with their debut ‘Universal’ and the extent of human potential with ‘Gold of the Highest’, Anglo-French trio Safetalk return to earth with third single ’Mimic’ released this November on new Paris based label Splinter. A psychic call to arms against the forces that seek to limit and contain us, ‘Mimic’ takes aim at those who seek to build walls around both our hearts and minds and our physical selves. Built around a call and response between the song’s lyrics and its powerful instrumentation, its rallying cry to speak up and demand change is carried along by the metronomic beat and borne aloft by the towering waves of crystalline synths and pulsating bass.

If that all sounds like neither your average protest or pop song then that’s because Safetalk have already shown themselves to be far from your average band in their brief existence. Tipped by the likes of Thump and Vice’s Creators platform in the US and Clash and the Ransom Note in the UK, the band’s fusion of psychedelic soul and captivating electronica along with a refined pop sensibility earning them comparisons to the likes of Future Islands, Tame Impala and even Simple Minds.

Drinker is the bicoastal recording project of singer-songwriter Aaron Mendelsohn and producer-composer Ariel Loh. The two met in Brooklyn in 2016, brought together by their shared love of artists such as Bon Iver, Fever Ray and James Blake. Out of that initial collaboration came 2017’s sublime debut Happy Accident EP.It was around that time that Aaron moved to LA. In spite of the huge physical distance it created between them, the duo continued to explore and develop exciting new material. Two years of cross-country collaboration produced the band's 2019 debut full-length album Fragments. Lead single “Fragment II” reached #1 on HypeMachine and the singles that followed received support from KCRW’s “Morning Becomes Eclectic” and BBC1’s Radio Xtra. Less than a year later, Drinker return with the They Don't Want To Know EP, out early summer 2020 via B3SCI Records.
