Bad news, packaged in sweet melodies, with the odd sinister twist, and the kind of choruses you’ll have stuck in your head for days.

Long-time writing collaborators, Andrew Burton (guitar and vocals) and Brett Allan (bass), met through a mutual music friend and have been creating music together since 2013. Davide Rinaldi (drums), a prior band-mate of Allan’s, joined to complete the line up in late 2021.

The 3-piece melodic rock band, based in Edinburgh, Scotland, are partial to heavier sections in their music; but members’ funk, jazz and alternative resumes are unmistakable through moments of powerful restraint, and groove.

Driven By Harness have gigged across Scotland, including performances at smaller festivals, such as Butefest. With strong connections to Germany, the band have played numerous shows there over the years, with an evening slot at the Immecke iRock festival in 2022 a particular highlight.

Single ‘Chicanery’, released independently in February 2025, is a fuzzy, sleazy, lounge bar jazz-tinged rock song, and is the first single from their upcoming third album ‘The Cult of Me’.
