Wer hätte jemals gedacht, dass 12 Düsen einmal so viel Wirbel machen?! 
Ohne lang umher zu schweifen, aber dennoch mit konzentriertem Blick auf die Drehzahl, fliegen wir auf unserem Drachen durch Kometenfelder. Wild durchgewirbelt, prasseln wir durch 12 Zeitzonen, um am Ende wieder da anzukommen, wo wir gestartet sind. Was für ein wilder Ritt war das denn bitte!?

Our No. 224 comes today from an artist who accompanies me for what feels like an eternity and since then always knows how to inspire with his new productions. You can definitely call him a connoisseur of downtempo, because he stands for me emblematic for the rise of the subgenre and has shaped the scene globally with his countless pieces - no still does.

We are talking about Niju who is always good for a surprise with his very special, organic but mega fascinating sound. No matter if alone or together with Ninze & Okaxy as Wide Awake (@wide-awake-8), he always provides with his playful and atmospheric way in his productions, remixes, edits and also sets for special experiences on the dancefloors, living rooms, bedrooms as well actually on all ears in the world. At least on all those who can appreciate downtempo. Definitely for me as a big downbeat fan. Then, now and tomorrow definitely too. I'm sure of it.

His set recorded for us is emblematic of his sound. To me, the whole tape basically feels like a typical Niju production, only in XXXXXXL format. At the beginning velvet soft and dreamy, yet discreet groovy and later from and then also danceable. And all garnished with a good portion of hypnotic elements like cranky voices and partly indefinable sound fragments. Great. Definitely a typical Niju, who joins our podcast series with his 2.5 hour journey like painted.

Buckle up... I can only repeat myself, but you can expect a journey made for an afterhour. Not a phrase, not fake news, but honest words from a music loving Spessarter.

Unsere Nr. 224 kommt heute von einem Künstler welcher mich seit einer gefühlten Ewigkeit begleitet und seither immer wieder mit seinen neuen Produktionen zu begeistern versteht. Man kann ihn definitiv als Connaisseur des Downtempo’s bezeichnen, da er für mich sinnbildlich für den Aufstieg des Subgenre steht und mit seinen unzähligen Stücken die Szene global geprägt hat – nein immer noch tut.

Die Rede ist von Niju  der mit seinem ganz speziellen, organischen aber mega faszinierenden Sound immer wieder für eine Überraschung gut ist. Egal ob alleine oder zusammen mit Ninze & Okaxy als Wide Awake (https://soundcloud.com/wide-awake-8), so sorgt er stets mit seiner verspielten und stimmungsvollen Art in seinen Produktionen, Remixen, Edits und auch Sets für besondere Erlebnisse auf den Dancefloors, Wohnzimmern, Schlafzimmern….ja eigentlich auf allen Ohren der Welt. Zumindest auf all denjenigen, die dem Downtempo etwas abgewinnen können. Für mich als großen Downbeat Fan definitiv. Damals, heute und morgen auch. Da bin ich mir sicher. 

Sein für uns aufgenommenes Set steht sinnbildlich für seinen Sound. Mir kommt das ganze Tape im Grunde vor wie eine typische Niju Produktion, nur im XXXXXXL Format. Anfangs samt weich und verträumt, dennoch dezent groovig und später ab und dann auch tanzbar. Und alles garniert mit einer gehörigen Portion an hypnotischen Elementen wie verschrobenen Stimmen und teils undefinierbaren Klangfetzen. Klasse. Definitiv ein typischer Niju, der sich mit seiner 2,5 stündigen Reise wie gemalt in unsere Podcast Reihe einreiht. 

Schnallt euch an… Ich kann mich nur wiederholen, aber es erwartet euch eine Reise, die wie gemacht für eine Afterhour ist. Keine Phrase, keine Fake-News, sondern ehrliche Worte eines musikverliebten Spessarters.

Ich danke dir vielmals Niko für dieses besondere Set. Umwerfend tiefenergreifend und erfrischend gut. Chapeu.

Uns kam zu Ohren, Wien sei das „neue Leipzig“? Dieser waghalsigen These gilt es auf die Spur zu gehen – hören wir also mal ganz genau in Igelkarussell-Runde #89 mit MataHari und Volker Arnold hinein!
Die beiden Wiener sind Teil der Crews Journey to Tarab & Immer mit der Ruhe. Auf dem diesjährigen Tarmac Festival haben sie zusammen mit Düsentrieb ein legendäres Set zelebriert. Wer es noch nicht kennt - Reinhören lohnt sich.

Kurzweiliger als in ihrem 3-stündigen Mix für uns ließe sich eine Reise wohl kaum gestalten: Direkt zurück in den Sommer katapultiert, werden eure Sinne hier durch eine sorgsam abgestimmte, wohltemperierte und aufeinander aufbauende Track-Auswahl geführt. Vocals und Harmoniewechsel immer genau an der richtigen Stelle, schenken die Jungs uns einen wahrlich groovigen Einstieg in die Adventszeit.

Gerade noch rechtzeitig, um dem wiederkehrenden Wahnsinn um uns herum mit Positivität und Ausgelassenheit zu trotzen! Danke euch beiden für die wohlverdiente Auszeit 🙌

For our next episode, we have something special. These 2 German friends met two months ago at one of the last parties before the clubs closed again. Many thanks to @aka-tony for being the person connecting the 2 of them therefor (in our humble opinion) being the catalyst for future succes of this amazing duo.  

We see a bright future for this duo as well as the 2 of them individually. They invest a lot of time and effort in the flow of their mixes which can be heard in this gem of a set. We're really looking forward seeing them play live! And now things are opening up again, i can imagine bookers taking their chances on them!

For now we're very honored to be the ones to publish the first set these girls have played together! One can only hope for loads more of this

Dear fellow slow driverz, i'm happy to presen the next episode mixed by true nature from Berlin. This mix aims for picking us up and taking us to a place beyond mind - in other words: usual music's business. 💛
Last year due to following the white rabbit or something like that, true nature started to head dive into DJing and the extra universe that magical sounds create. Since then, a deep feeling of gratitude is rising within as music feels like a guidance back to who we truly are.

LOCKIGE OSTSEE:
Als gebürtiges Ostseekind hat Stephan jederzeit den Strandsand zwischen den Zehen und fühlt sich in der Nähe des Wassers einfach am wohlsten. Lockig wie einst seine Haare versprüht er seit seinem 18. Lebensjahr den Discovibe. Gestartet als Trashmaster 3000 in früheren Zeiten, machte er sich auf so mancher 80er und 90er Party in seiner Heimatregion beliebt. Nach vielen Experimenten hat er 2015 seine liebe zur langsamen, elektronischen Musik entdeckt. Der von ihm liebevoll genannte "Trash" spiegelt sich aber immernoch wieder und so findet man in nahezu all seinen Mixen etwas aus den vergangenen Jahrzehnten. Gepaart mit einem schwungvollen Elektrobeat, zieht er mittlerweile viele Zuhörer:innen in seinen Bann und ist nicht mehr nur an der Ostsee zu hören. 2018 gründete er mit seinem @Faultierbuddy @Stelzenlaeufermusic die @Faultierdisko in Rostock und wurde so auch über die Grenzen Mecklenburgs hinaus bekannt.

I’ve loved music for as long as I can remember but it was only at my first rave that I realized what we can do if i work hard at my new exciting craft. After a little while Berlin has become my new home. Within it’s walls soon darker, powerful downtempo called me into it. Now, I dig and find them, the groovy melodies, fatter basslines, enchanting rhythms and flowing beats, for you, for us…. This time it is mixed by Turak, a berlin-based member of the global network "Love Foundation".
The following text is not a bio, but some things he want's you to know about the music instead.

"It is a very special set to me and again a little different than the rest. It consists more or less completely out of warm and super groovy favorite songs. A lot of guitars can be found and I kept it intentionally mellow and down without any big peaks. Hopefully this is counterbalanced by the catchiness of the tracks.

In the end of December we listened to it in the car at seven am, while driving to the alps. Still sleepy and excited for the snow, this did fit perfectly to me. Hopefully it does to you, too, maybe even on a warm summer evening, spent with friends!"
