‘What in the World?’ is a landscape of ideas, what if’s….could it really happen!?

An unfortunate topic which is ever relevant, and forever in the forefront of the news and the world stage.

The music and production manoeuvres around a familiar piano riff, forged by Montao’s favourite all time composer, creating a perfect backdrop to set the scene.

It kicks off with the introspective and poetic veteran that is Slug of Atmosphere, painting a seamless and eloquent picture in his own unique way.

Next in line adding some spice is Koncept ramping up the tempo with his innovative style and flow, paving the way for new kid on the block Lane Shuler.

Lane blasts out his take with drama, tension, and intensity creating the perfect ending to an epic piece of work.

The track is a cinematic Hiphop masterpiece, sketching out a vivid animated story of the unknown.

"Terror by Radio" published in the NY Times on Nov. 1, 1938, is an editorial condemning Orson Welles' "War of the Worlds" radio drama which was broadcasted the night before. Coincidentally, I was discussing this radio broadcast with my students this week and it somehow seemed fitting for this week's task. The article eventually gives way to a little ditty composed on the Tracker and then re-emerges in altered form, thanks to a bit of granular manipulation. To me it sounds like the aliens taking over, which is not necessarily a bad thing, considering what we humans are up to.

What Do I Know?

This is one of my favourite pieces of classical music of all time (and as someone who isn't an avid listener, that's saying something!) There's something so powerful and emotive about this piece and whilst listening to it on a film soundtrack and subsequently after purchasing it, I felt compelled to arrange and produce this remix. It won't be to everyone's taste, that's for sure, but I love how its beauty is transcendent and even as I take it in a direction associated with 2-Step, breakbeat and bass music, it retains its power simply because of what was penned and played in the first place.
