Though the tempo remains modest, the energy steadily rises, keeping things engaging by alternating pumping techno with broken beats and new rhythms.
The final tracks hold deep personal meaning for me; they are very high in emotion. To finish the mix, a beautiful piano composition.

Michal began his passion for techno music from playing with vinyls. Extracted from the black disc sounds inspired him to do more, to go a step further and create his own music. Today, his performances are consisting entirely of the author production, where you can find a dense atmosphere, industrial and off beats sounds and elements of dub techno driven by energetic, expressive kick.

Biography

Lexed: 
Alexander van Zweden, born in Blaricum, presently based in Amsterdam and beter known as LEXED.
Co-owner and founder of THEBARKINGDOG, a music platform that brings a slightly different sound of various artists.
As a boy he was raised with music so it was no suprise that he felt extremely comfortable in the music scene. 
It all started in an attic in ’t Gooi’. Just a couple of speakers and some friends. It didn’t take long for LEXED to develop a passion for minimal and electronic music. And so it was unavoidable that he would buy his own decks and start to experiment with the music that he loved. It didn’t take long before he played anywhere he got the chance to show of his unique tech-house sound. But after a while he felt that even tech-house didn’t satisfy his need for banging music. So eventually he ended up in the techno scene, which wasn’t a big leap from the tech-house scene.

Phobia: 
Phobia is a hybrid dj/live act formed by a collaboration of two young electronic dj’s and producers. On stage, they present music that seeks for different depths in different styles, reliant to the time they play and the artists they are with. Their vision when they produce are nonetheless equal; they explore different tonal and rhythmic grounds in the area of electronic music. These differences are reflected from a range between deep and liquid to dark and rough. In the long run, this variety in their productions and sets will keep the audience triggered and thrilled in different ways. They have released on labels like Genesa and Labrynth and there is many more to come from this promising duo.

Now on the Drone Podcast, always a pleasure to have an artist on the show who has been around for a while. Our next Techno Minded Hero is established as an artist since the 90’s and under his current name since 2005. Most of us already know this hero but for those who doesn’t, you are in for a real treat.

He is surrounded by great heroes like Samuel L Session, Jeff Rushin and more, and running his label on which he has releases from known heroes like Simo Lorenz, Rocco Caine and more like Distale and Saam. Our next Techno Minded Hero is always in a good company.

The fact his movement is all about Techno music, straight up with no compromises, taking a step away from the commercial engine and embrace the purity. has really stolen our heart. The way we like it and in our opinion, like it should be.

In the 90`s Mike Wall made his first experiences with electronic music. In these years, he started mixing tapes and playing his first gigs in the East Germany. But he released under the name Mike Wall for the first time on the record label Modulat in 2005, and since then things started looking up for him.

In the same year, he played at the legendary Melt Festival! and refurnished his studio. These changes brought a fresh wind in his EP`s like “Loose Changes” or “She Comes” and let his productions seem much more smooth and warm. He is known over the border of Germany for the variety in his sets, because even listeners in Italy, Spain, Greece, Austria and Switzerland, USA, Russia and more…. were very enthusiastic about his dynamic sounds.

In 2006, his début vinyl was released on the London minimal label named “Safari Electronique”, which is home to very talented producers such as Italoboyz, Delete and Arnaud le Textier, Cesare vs. Disorder, Christian Burkhardt, just to name a few. Since then, a lot happened and he released on labels like smallroom music, Hidden Recordings, Sleaze and his own label Wall Music. With the foundation of Wall Music/Wall Music Limited, he took a further step into independence and he began to push unknown artists and labels with the credo of having the best fun out of it.

For our next Techno Minded Hero, we have got one of our personal favorite heroes.

We first saw him perform in 2003 at one of the infamous Traffic party`s in the Melkweg, Amsterdam with his partner in crime Rumenige. We`re blown away directly. And we weren`t the only one, Rocco from Awakenings was also a witness of the madness they brought. Put them on Awakenings festival, and from that moment till 2007, they have been frequently seen guests in the Dutch party scene!

He has been a professional DJ since 1994 holding residences at U.Club/Subclub (Bratislava/Slovakia). He started his own productions in 1996, He was mainly known for being Olga+Jozef and also standing behind PVC, Antidandruff, and Numb labels. On antidandruff, he released the mix cd: EVERGREENS AND EVERBLACKS. Which is in our opinion one of the best off-beat techno works out there, and stood trough the test time, and we definitely recommend that your search the internet for it, to have a listen. So you know what we are talking about!

On top of his own productions, he`s remixed artists Regis, Function, Oscar Mulero, Mark Broom, Radial, Takaaki Itoh, Makaton, Christian Wunsch, Anton Pieete, and Hardcell to name some.

Rumenige (Toky) and Loktibrada (Dalo) are two DJ`s known as the fathers of slovak techno. They have been playing techno together since 1996 and represent Slovakia`s most famous DJ team. From 1994 through 2003 both were resident DJ`s in Bratislava’s U Club, one of central Europe most well-known locations for high quality techno.

Loktibrada released several EP`s since 1998, most notably for Olga+Josef, Numb, PVC and Antidandruff labels. In 2000 Rumenige started his own productions, also for Numb and Antidandruff. Together they have collaborated with many diverse artists in the electronic music industry including: Regis, Female, Hardcell, Mark Broom, Christian Wunsch, Takaaki Itoh, HU, Boss, Function, Makaton and Oscar Mulero. Notable releases include the 12 - Petrzalka on the Tresor label (Tresor.204) and a mixed CD Evergreens and Everblacks on Antidandruff.

For our next Drone Podcast, We have a young Techno Minded Hero straight from our hometown Amsterdam. At the moment she is working hard to be one of the biggest upcoming rising Techno talents. And since early 2016 she has been racking up gigs like a maniac in and around our fine capital. With over more than 20 Gigs, winning the 2017 Play! Festival contest, and already hosting her own night called ATMOS, she is off to a powerful start!

For this edition, she granted us a 1-hour studio mix aiming to deliver a skilled balance between energetic and atmospherical sounds driven by bass-heavy techno. And so we are very pleased to welcome on the Drone Podcast No.089: Grace Dahl.

"Grace Dahl is a Tech House and Techno DJ/Producer making a name for herself with her stellar DJ performances and her flourishing skill for production.

During her constant progression of knowledge and experience in the Techno scene, her sound continues to develop on numerous levels. Grace now aims to deliver a skilled balance between energetic, atmospheric sounds and restless kicks in bass-heavy Techno.

By mid-2016, she was granted the possibility to curate her own night called ATMOS. Combining forces of experienced artists and talented newcomers, she strives to present high-quality club nights.

Since the start of 2017, she has been able to present her advanced sound at prominent stages such as Poema RAW and Sugarfactory. Her first festival debut at Play Festival was achieved after earning the first place of the Technostate Inc. DJ contest.

Being surrounded by electronic music since she was born, it was only natural for this 20-year-old to evolve into a music industry professional. Ambitious as she is, she will always look for authentic ways to provide a new and promising sound."

Biography

One of the leading names in Paris’ contemporary scene, Zadig is one of the main forces responsible for the return of the City of Light to worldwide prominence as a centre for forward-looking techno. A participant in the’90s French rave scene in the hardcore and acid days, Sylvain Peltier found his true inspiration with the arrival of Mills, Surgeon, and Beltram and labels like Tresor, Lost, and Synewave and the techno that his style remains rooted in to this day. After moving to Paris in the mid-2000s, Zadig became quickly involved in the beginnings of what would become the present-day Parisian upswing, making an early release in 2006 as Day is Dying on the Rouen-based Euro Visions label. In 2009 he returned, this time as Zadig and this time to stay, quickly forging a relationship with the important Syncrophone label and distributor in Paris.

There has not been any looking back since, and as Paris’ techno scene continues to rise from the ashes of the early 2000s to the vibrant, world-recognized heights it now occupies, Zadig has made essential contributions to this ascendancy. Starting in 2011, he launched his Construct Re-Form label, which has gone on to a residency at the legendary Rex Club and continues to debut and support bracing new French talent like Antigone, Voiski, Birth of Frequency, and Zadig himself. His own discography also continues to grow, with releases on the reknown Deeply Rooted House in 2013, the New York-based Chronicle, Children of Tomorrow, and continued support from Syncrophone, as well as compilation appearances on Tresor, Reclaim Your City, and Studio R. As Zadig’s reputation as a leader in the French scene has spread, he has gone on to play numerous dates around Europe, with appearances in Berghain and a deepening relationship with Tresor, at both Concrete and the Weather festival in Paris, and worldwide in New York and Argentina, alongside scene-leading contemporary talent and legends like Scion, Rodhad, Peter van Hoesen, DVS1, Inigo Kennedy, Samuli Kemppi, Jonas Kopp, Johannes Volk, Shifted, Lucy, and many more. 2015 saw the debut of his Unforeseen Alliance live collaborative project with label mates Voiski, Antigone, and Birth of Frequency, all of whom have moved on to increasing success as both Zadig and Construct Re-Form have gained recognition.

With Paris’ resurgent club scene blossoming to worldwide attention not seen since the ’90s, it is the dedicated efforts of those like Sylvain Peltier who have helped to bring about this revival and continue to lead it to new heights. As Zadig, as a label head, as a DJ, and as a central fgure in its continued growth, he is an essential fgure in its present and a leading light for its future.

Amsterdam, hometown of our next Techno Minded Hero. This Hero is one the founders of the event called Eerste Communie (stands for: First Communion). Together with his partner in crime ’Skar’ they have organized a number of great events in and around our beloved city Amsterdam. One of those well known party’s were held on very special location. As a partygoer your were dancing your feet of on a boat. Floating around in a intimate setting with some proper Techno. In collaboration with’’Strak’they brought ’Nachtvaren’ to live with succes and immediatly made name for themselves. They had some great names on the roster like: Drumcell, Bram Fidder, YYYY, Alfredo Mazzilli, Saam, and offcourse Skar, to name a few.

Our next Techno Minded Hero played in the a lot of Amsterdam’s known clubs like: ClubNL, Panama, Sugarfactory, Westergasterras and many more. We are pretty sure that we will be hearing more from this talented hero.

And we are glad to have him on the show.

For this weeks podcast he granted us a mix that takes well over an hour of rolling minimalistic deep sounds, jungle percussions and pumping kicks.

Biography
The name MARRON comes from the Maroons of Surinam. These were just arrived slaves in Surinam who resisted to be marked as a slave, and escaped into the jungle to live as free people. Until this day the Maroons are still living in Surinam and are very much respected and known as people with a strong character. This is what MARRON is all about, the rolling minimalistic deep sounds, jungle percussions and direct kicks at high tempo, are there to notice and should be recognizable with a strong character as well.
