We've been following Leeds-based producer Samurai Breaks for a few years now through his releases on some of our favorite uptempo imprints like Ground Mass Music, The Dreamers Recordings, Worst Behavior Recs, and most recently, Belgium's illustrious Halogen Music. His high-octane blend of jungle, juke/footwork, drum and bass, hip hop beats, and classic rave music is built club-ready, and if you've ever seen a warehouse going nuts to jungle at 3 o'clock in the morning, it was probably to music that sounds a lot like Samurai Breaks. Whatever's going on in that head, we're here for it, and we couldn't be more excited to premiere the latest single "Tommy 2Fast" from his new release "Anti-Social Club" forthcoming via Halogen Music next week. The "No Other Way EP" is one wild ride from start to finish. It's probably Ternion's heaviest outing to date. While already gained the support of Caspa, J:Kenzo and others, when you listen you'll know why.

Starting off with the title track "No Other Way".  The intro's bass guitar slaps away at you while giving you that gritty downtown kind of feeling. Just before everything turns black & white the guys go in with a bass line that is both relentless and intense which had us from the moment we heard it. But that's not enough for the Ternion men. They just keep cranking the juice on this one giving it almost beastial characteristics as the track progresses.
"Dovetail" is a different kind of cookie though. With this track Ternion reminds us why we fell in love with Dubstep in the first place. The magic of a well worked out wobbler is lovely when done correctly and Dovetail delivers on all fronts. It's militant and angry while it keeps it groovy, fun and bouncy. We know it's not much of description to go on but those are words that come to mind when one plays this track.
Guarding the rear is "Jammer". A gnarly sounding stomper that's bursting with energy. It starts of light and sweet but as soon as you near the drop you can tell it's going to show you a darker side. It then skips of snarling and growling away and showing you why it earned the title Jammer.

This is all wrapped in a black & white sleeve with artwork made by the sick Karimooo and pressed on 180g solid white vinyl with black inner sleeve making this our second vinyl release!

This release will be available on the 20th of september at the first Next Level Label Night @ Perron, Rotterdam.

"Belgium's Ghent, found in the northern part of the country, has a population of just north of 260,000. We welcome two members of that population to the FatKidOnFire family for FKOFd046. Stumbling across an intriguing tune on SoundCloud a few months ago, we started a chat with Substrada. As things developed, he sent a batch of tunes over and a few caught our attention - collabs between him and Caba. Two pretty under the radar musicians, but the quality of the tunes was next level. We ended up signing five tunes (the release and its accompanying FKOF Free Download) and got one of the grime forefathers to vocal one of them.

"FKOFd046 is a pretty heavyweight addition to our catalogue, even if we say so ourselves. We open with the tune that got the EP signed, Substrada's 'Doom'. It's everything you'd expect from a FKOF tune: beats, bass and space. Watch for that switch, too. Track two, the aptly-titled 'Calibre' sees Substrada's effort blessed by the mighty Riko Dan. It's a match made in heaven or hell (your choice) and has been doing some serious damage. Gas mark gas about having Riko on a FKOF tune! We then venture into the collabs, starting with 'Omen'. It's a dark and foreboding body of work, with its haunting synths and suffocating low end. 'Aku's Grasp' caused a bit of dialogue internally with the FKOF Records team, but we're still pretty comfortable it's one of the maddest tunes we've released. Industrial, threatening, edgy samples and impressive layout. Absolute levels from Substrada and Caba!

"As you can probably tell, we love this EP. It's been a pleasure to pull together, and has been a pretty positive re-affirmation that there's music out there that we can sign off a first listen. Having one of grime's founding fathers on the release doesn't hurt either. All in all, we're still vibing on these tunes. We hope you enjoy them as much as we do!"
