Quiet Sonia is a chamber-rock/folk ensemble that, at its fullest, comprises up to 10 musicians. Quiet Sonia plays big, sprawling yet intimate and highly dynamic emotional music with longer narrative-like structures, improvisational elements and intricate detailled arrangements. The band is led by songwriter and lyricist Nikolaj Bruus on vocals and acoustic steel-string guitar. Presenting a mixture of shoegaze, post rock, indie rock and experimental soundscapes combined with indie folk elements, Quiet Sonia leads “a riveting sound, one with a tendency for steadily evolving songs that swell from quaint beauty into effervescent heights” (Obscure Sound, US), a sound that Sun 13 (UK) likens to ”a campfire version of Broken Social Scene trying to reimagine Godspeed You! Black Emperor”.
