UNDERGROUND, they feed off the COUNTER-CULTURE, their minds have vast experi-MENTAL capacity, they search through the AVANT GARDEn, they DAMn the MAINSTREAM, and live the SURreal life. They are the “Dunning-Kruger” of their coterie. They are Illusional Engineers, Dystopian Spelunkers, Desolation Cartographers, Misanthropic Therapists, Pragmatic Escapists, Clinical Obscurists, Oxymoronic Magistrates, Elaborate Equivicators, Elevator Operators, Hallucinogenic Fungi Analysts, and Restroom Attendants, to name but a few prestigious occupations. Never underestimate the Yellow Salamand’r.

(Started making experimental music in ‘81 at 18 years old with circuit bent devices. 
Did some underground tape trading. Also made field recordings when working in a steel mill at night. (Lost all cassettes from that era.) Domestic life halted almost all artistic endeavours for many years. Along came 2013, and my world and technology had changed drastically. I started back into music using an iPhone and various technological detritus. I had shifted from lo-fi analog, to lo-fi digital. This is where I am still at nowadays. I can create unique experimental music, and yet still be satisfied with the outcome. I truly enjoy working with minimal equipment allowing me to be challenged by the limitations. (Inability is often the mother of restriction, and restriction is the great mother of inventive performance. - Holger Czukay) Even my visual art has gone from analog (painting, drawing) to digital collage. I don’t use AI and even though I think it will one day have it’s place in the art world, it just doesn’t align with my personal principles. There are links to XiiixxiQ below. Your mileage may vary as to whether it decides to work on your system or not. It only runs on a Mac because I really don't have time to do all the necessary work to make it compatible with anything other than my 2015 MacBook Pro :-(. It is still being developed (for my own use) and improved, and I may yet get round to doing another release if I can find the time to tidy it all up.

Almost all tracks are free to download and covered by a Creative Commons license. Collaborations / Remixes are welcome so feel free to experiment - no need to get my permission first. Just send me a link to your track when you're done :)

I love listening to & creating ambient, dark ambient, avant-garde & experimental electronica (and the occasional beatscape). I have no professional aspirations  - I just really like creating music / manipulating sounds. It's my way of relaxing after a hard day at the office. All my tracks are produced using monitoring headphones (Audix A140) so I recommend that you listen to my music through headphones. My DAW of choice is FL Studio. I also use Reason every now & then. 


To the artists I follow; I do my best to try to listen to as many of your tracks as possible each night (I listen to each track all the way through - you went through the effort to create a track so you deserve to have it heard in full). If I miss a recent upload of yours, please forgive me...
