In dieser Podcast Folge hatte ich Audiomatic zu Gast. Im Interview haben darüber geredet, wie Benni dazu gekommen ist, den Bereich Audio Mastering als Dozent am SAE Institut in Zürich zu lehren, wie seine Arbeit dort aussieht und wie es dazu kam hauptberuflich in der Musikbranche zu arbeiten mit seinen drei Projekten als Künstler, Dozent und Audio Engineer. Es ging im Interview darum, was Audio Mastering überhaupt ist, wie er seinen eigenen Mastering Service so erfolgreich aufgebaut hat und wie er zur Samplenutzung und -übernutzung steht. Wir sprechen über die Wichtigkeit von Social Media als Künstler und ich habe Benni die Frage gestellt, in welchem Künstler er selbst am meisten Potential sieht, weil er schon vor finalem Release viele Tracks zu hören bekommt.

Progressiven Psytrance, treibende Beats, Musik im Flow, pure Leidenschaft und immer eine musikalische Geschichte in seinen Sets. Seit nunmehr 20 Jahren verkörpert er diese Attribute als DJ und Produzent. Im jugendlichen Alter begann seine musikalische Reise als Drummer. Die Tiefe von elektronischer Musik berührte ihn aber bereits im Kindesalter, geprägt von Künstlern wie z. B. Jean Michele Jarre! Erst startete er seine DJ Karriere unter dem Synonym Akira-Psy-Projekt und änderte diesen dann in seinen aktuellen Namen Dropkick!

This Maharetta episode features DISTRICT SOLARIS with a live set that contains original "District Solaris Music" and some of the artist's favorite tracks. District Solaris is a psychedelic trance artist from the United States. His love for psytrance started in 2016 as a result of visiting a Southern California festival called Dreamstate. After returning home from the event, he was sitting in his studio looking at a blank project file. All he could think about was the music he recently heard and how it spoke to him and remembering how the music made him feel. For him it was like being on an epic journey that he didn’t want to end. It felt like he could feel the movement within the music, from its fast bass-lines to its exotic sounds. He then realized why it was called psytrance… because when you listen to it it’s like your whole being is encompassed within the music itself. It opened up a new beginning for him and a new meaning to music. This is why he started producing psytrance, and why he will never stop.
