Ukrainian breakout talent Korolova remixes Kasablanca’s ‘In Sequence’. 

Acclaimed electronic duo Kasablanca follow up the release of their second EP on Anjunabeats, ‘Lucid Audio’, with Korolova’s remix of ‘In Sequence’. An homage to 90's rave music mixed in with Kasablanca’s contemporary melodic techno sound, the original mix received support from the likes of Armin van Buuren, R3HAB, Above & Beyond, Cosmic Gate, Shane 54 and many more.

Kasablanca exploded onto the scene in summer 2020 with their collaboration with Lane 8, ‘Run’. What followed was a dream run: their debut album ‘Human Learning’, a Juno Award-nominated collaboration with Bob Moses in ‘Afterglow’, and joining us at Anjunabeats to release the ‘Immunity EP’, as well as remixing Above & Beyond’s ‘Black Room Boy’ as part of the ‘10 Years of Group Therapy’ celebrations.

The duo recently completed their ‘Am I Dreaming?’ tour, which took them to eight sold-out venues across North America, plus festival appearances in Brazil and India. Their live show (best described as Justice meets Queen meets Stephan Bodzin) is more comparable to a full-on performance like a rock show than a typical clubbing experience, replete with Prince-esque swagger and an extensive rig of analogue synthesizers on stage. Next up for them: supporting Above & Beyond at their sold-out Printworks London takeover, and joining our Anjunafamily pilgrimage to the Gorge for Group Therapy Weekender.

Ukrainian DJ and producer Korolova boasts over 875k monthly listeners on Spotify and has released on Shen, REALM, Island/UMG, Ultra, Black Hole, Get Physical, and Armada. She racked up over 10M streams on her 2022 track with Spada, ‘Be Strong’, and amassed over 100K streams on her recent single ‘Lost In Space’ with Franky Wah within its first two weeks of release. Her tracks have been supported by the likes of Tiesto, Pete Tong, Nora En Pure, Vintage Culture, Guiseppe Ottaviani and beyond.

Argentinian melodic techno producer Øostil remixes Kasablanca’s ‘Am I Dreaming?’.

Acclaimed electronic duo Kasablanca follow up the release of their second EP on Anjunabeats, ‘Lucid Audio’, with Øostil’s remix of ‘Am I Dreaming?’. The original mix was debuted by Above & Beyond at ABGT500 in October 2022 and became the duo's hit track over the past year. It featured in Spotify’s Night Rider, Dance Rising and Mint Canada playlists and also received widespread support from Vintage Culture, James Hype, Ferry Corsten, ALOK, Paul van Dyk, Lane 8, Rebūke and many more.

Liverpool-based duo Matrefakt land on Peggy Gou’s Gudu Records for their first release on the label: a four-track EP of undeniable dance floor weapons.

The last half-decade has seen Matrefakt release a steady stream of high-quality dance records with minimal fuss, and the support speaks for itself: Peggy Gou, Skream, Patrick Topping, Anja Schneider, DJ Boring, Richie Ahmed, Sally C, Sarah Story — the list goes on, and when you listen to their music, their rapid rise comes as no surprise. They’re also regulars at their city’s famed Circus parties, while the last two years have seen them play key sets at Creamfields, Hideout, Watergate and more. 

Their first EP for Gudu is the definition of doing a lot with a little: samples are often looped across one or two bars, but Matrefakt know how to use them for maximum effect, building up tension with chopped vocals or looped bubbles and beeps over raw, loose and chunky drum patterns — just how we like it. After Peggy playing multiple Matrefakt tracks in her sets for over a year, they played together for the first time at Creamfields last Summer and an EP naturally developed from there.

Stellar remixes of tracks from the EP soon followed: Korolova’s take on ‘Am I Dreaming?’ featured in Spotify’s New Music Friday Dance and Mint Canada playlists; Øostil’s rework of ‘Am I Dreaming?’ saw spins from David Guetta, Cosmic Gate, Gabriel & Dresden, Gitman and beyond.

New additions to the remix package include melodic house producer Dokho’s twist on ‘Dream About You’, Belgian artist Maxim Lany’s rework of 'Crucible', and rising talent CVMRN’s take on 'In Sequence'.

Accent joins the label with the ‘Intimate Forms’ EP, with REj on remix duties.
Not much to tell about the mysterious Accent other than their inspirations come from the fiery cauldron of Tel Aviv’s underground dance scene. With tracks signed to a number of labels, they are gaining fans with each release.
Opening the EP with ‘Intimate Forms’ solid drums and sonics welcome you to Accent’s world. Firmly aimed at the hips, their mature prog vibes feel familiar and refreshingly original. Next up, ‘Hope’ takes us in a totally different direction. Beginning with a breakbeat and icy pads, the rubbery bass notes counterpoint perfectly. Reminiscent of some early BT productions, the soundscape created tells its tale with emotional depth.

On remix duties, Gibraltar-based REj works his magic reimagining ‘Hope’ as a mid set progressive groover. Wonky FX and a powerful low end get things gong before the icy pads and an earworm melody do so serious damage. Finally, ‘Other Spaces’ rounds out the EP with some stompy drumwork for an epic acid-drenched finalé.
