swee2th came to California in 2013 to thaw out after 29 years of cryosleep in the frozen incubator of Minnesota. Preprogrammed with a techno-centric mindset, shaped by the Minneapolis sound and early influences like Frankie Bones and Carl Cox, swee2th has relentlessly, shamelessly and proudly peddled techno to a new set of friends and party people throughout the SLO area since his migration. His productions and sets span genres. As of late his energies have been focused primarily on live improvisation with analog and digital standalone gear, hybridized with Traktor-driven DJ sets. He looks forward to a near future where his Ableton productions are integrated with live improvisation, tying together a mad circus of circuits into a unique flavor that will truly leave you with a sweet tooth, drooling for more.

I enjoy tellin it like it is- especially when I get a reaction. For what is considered the language of the mind- I have no thoughts but emotion. In my whole, I feel what must be the truth (my truth) but i know not what i speak, for my hands, they do the talking. My eyes, they do the walking. Never considered myself a poet- but i strongly believe that metaphor enhances any topic. I have as much time for rhyme as i do for reason- structure is what i attempt to avoid. It seems it's the only way to stay true. If everything is limited to perception... What then of the color spectrum? Can you make a new primary color?

I make rapid variations in air pressure with robots and computers. It's very emotional.

Sound> Classifying Flores’s sound is a difficult feat, and that is precisely the  point. His personality and experience are present in every track he produces, resulting in a dark, groove driven sound. Luis’s interaction with the machine becomes the listeners’ interaction with auditory landscapes of eeriness, altered states and paranoia. A minimal use of elements results in a rich spectrum of textures and a dark and trippy dance floor pull. Live shows, improvisational in nature, can last anywhere from 2- 5 hours, resulting in a hypnotic exploration of the possibilities of electronic production.

Bio> In the more than 17 years he has been producing electronic music, Luis Flores has not only made a name for himself but has been at the forefront of a movement that made the city of Guadalajara, Mexico, a hot spot for electronic music production and events. At the center of this movement was Nopal Beat Records, a label he ran from 1998 to 2006. At the same time, he also worked with the city’s cultural bureau to produce a string of massive, free public events that could bring electronic music to a wider group of people and provided a stage for local producers.

In 2007, he returned to the studio focused once again in his techno roots which quickly yielded results like his enduring relationship with L.A.’s Droid Behavior or the demand for his live shows.

In 2009 the release of the “Damage” EP on Droid Recordings, established Flores as an international artist with its immediate success, making the charts of artists such as Speedy J, The Detroit Grand Pubbahs and Chris Liebing’s Best 10 of 2009. In 2010, Dietrich Schoenemann’s Hidden Agenda released “Pain + Prosthetics”, an EP which among other things includes a collaboration with Canadian: Vitamins 4 U.

Flores published “Love Your Machine” under the German imprint Micro.Fon the following year. Further exploring the audiovisual aspect of his music, he created the video teaser for the single using J.G. Ballard’s “Crash” as reference and inspiration.

In 2012 he returned to Droid for the release of “New Flesh” which included remixes by label owner Drumcell and CLR’s Brian Sanhaji. This year was also marked by people's interest in his sound with remix requests for legendary names like Jam n Spoon and The Advent.

2013 began with his first collaboration with Berlin based producer Material Object and the release of the “Crowd Control” EP under the Impact Unit moniker for the French label Silent Steps and in 2014 he released “Rituals of Submission” on Detroit’s Blank Code, “Test Pattern” EP in the Spring for CLR and the “Metal” remix for Black Asteroid under EDLX.

He began 2015 with the the release of “43” on Alex Bau’s Credo compilation and with his 3rd release for Droid Recordings, the “Static Forces” EP.

Luis has represented México at the Meet in Beijing, ADE in Amsterdam, Borderline Festival in China, Brussels BEMF, among others.

Since being introduced to electronic music back in the early 90's, David has been hooked. At the age of 15 he started DJing and playing out at local underground events and raves around the Southern California area. You would've found him spinning various styles from house, acid, & techno to hardcore techno.

After years of DJing he then decided to learn to produce his own music, which landed him his first releases on labels such as Monoid, Stimulus, 4 Track & local label Droid Recordings. Since being associated with local event production group Droid Behavior in 2003, you can find him as a resident at the infamous Interface warehouse events as well as a regular producer for Droid Recordings. Over the years his music has gained worldwide attention and onto the playlists of many big players which eventually led him to gigs at some of the worlds biggest clubs including Berghain in Berlin and Fabric in London. He is also now regularly touring all over the world in Australia, Japan, Mexico, Canada, Central & South America, all throughout Europe and the U.S.A.

In early 2011 he started a project called 'Truncate' which focuses on the deeper, and more raw side of techno. His Truncate releases have been gain support from big players such as, Ben Klock, Marcel Dettmann, Chris Liebing, Speedy J, DVS1, Luke Slater, Ben Sims and many more.

With his heavy remix, production and touring schedule there is no slowing down in the near future for David as he continues to shape his own sound, putting Droid Behavior and Los Angeles on the techno map
