Vox Portent (Steve Hogg) began writing the songs for Hlehla early in 2019 while touring with the South African based Morena Leraba band. He chose to imprint the tracks for this EP with a similar, slower paced rhythm to the songs he produces for the band, yet with an added and more jarring experimental approach than previous Vox Portent releases. The names are in Sesotho language; the indigenous language of Lesotho, where the lead singer of the band hails from. The EP represents for him, a story of spiritual travel. Of learning about different cultures, and as a creative stance, in a mode of constant change in life.

What happens when you combine a background in classical music, an affinity for mathematics and a deep curiosity in the theory and possibilities of harmonic synthesis? 

Operation Operator is the ambitious project of Zurich’s @howlong. Every sound created from scratch using Ableton Live’s Operator, no presets. With this concept he was met with equal parts control and limitation in terms of possibilities. 

A special thanks goes to Pascal and Ueli for all their feedback and Lukas Endhardt for the killer mixdowns of tracks 01 and 03.

Howlong - Operation Operator 01

Hailing from Latvia, in the Baltic region of Northern Europe, Monvol is the duo of Nastya Volkova and Anton Monk, both live performing artists.
Their combination reflects deep synthetic sonority, having a touch of live recorded instruments and seasoned all along with meaningful vocal paths.

Every track from their Milestiba EP brings different energy and together they create a full pack of human emotions. By landmarking the unique sound of their favorite synthesizers trio (Roland's Juno-06, JP-08 and SE-02), they come to provide a specific atmosphere; as inspiration for these tracks came from everyday life, observing and feeling different inner statements of appreciation and acceptance.
