BIO

Josh Cheon grew up in northern New Jersey, just outside New York City where he spent his weekends dancing at goth clubs and digging for records. He moved to San Francisco in 2006 and joined gay DJ collective Honey Soundsystem from 2007 to 2017. His love of underground ‘80s music pushed him to start Dark Entries in 2009, a record label specializing in reissuing lost music from that era as well as contemporary bands referencing those analog sounds.

Yo Yo… 

Welcome back!

 I’m fresh off from my first ever trip to L.A. where I played a gig for the guys at Destroy Planet Earth this past Saturday October 11 2025. The vibe was niceeee and the people even more wonderful. I had the pleasure after like 15 years to finally meet in person and play along side Mr.Santiago Salazar.. I also played a long side a wonderful up and coming DJ by the name of Xio who played before me. I was trying to figure out how I would start my set so I listened to her vibe and I must say she DOPE! Great selection of tracks and her execution was on point. So if you get a chance and you’re in L.A. go check her out!  

Shouts out to the boys Derrick and Anthony for bringing me out.  This Scene was inspired from the party and from the oral surgery I had done hours after my flight landed…Mannnn I’m in PAIN… Thank GOD for pain killers!!! :)

What began as a search for life among the stars turned into a journey of self-discovery - a mission to touch human souls through sounds that travel beyond the cosmos. This revelation reignited a purpose anchored in the pure essence of electronic music, where its origins and its future coexist in infinite space.

Joaquín B. Lapeña’s path began in 1993 as DJ Pitch, performing regularly in iconic Madrid venues like Voltereta. His curiosity drove him to explore an ever-expanding sound spectrum - from EBM and IDM to house, techno, electro, drum & bass, and ambient - guided by groundbreaking artists such as Aphex Twin, Autechre, and James Stinson.

His creative vision flourished with the Dark Archives Collective. Their Altered State sessions introduced Madrid to experimental drum & bass, soon expanding across Spain’s most influential clubs and festivals like Zeus (La Coruña), Metro (Alicante), Copelia (Madrid), Moog (Barcelona), El Jardin (Gijon), Arena (Madrid), One (Madrid), Sónar (2000), Festimad (2002), or Phonetica (2004).

The mid-2000s marked a turning point as electro took hold of his artistic core. Influenced by Carl Finlow and Anthony Rother, he embraced music production and released Madrid My Beat (Drivecom, 2007), a vinyl record that defined his identity as The Zenobit3 and became a milestone in Spanish electro.

Since then, his sound - rich in arpeggios, emotion, and cosmic groove - has echoed through events like Mugako, Celobert, Fanzine and clubs such as LAUT, Lanna, Macarena, Moog, Razzmatazz, Specka and Ya’sta. As co-founder of Redsonja Beats, Joaquín continues shaping the underground scene, no question about it.
