“hoja de ruta” is an exercise to make visible the musical languages of the serial, deep and infinite digging practice. The first episode starts in 1994 in Japan, it was almost impossible to leave the island.

This show as a binnacle allows to register and diagram the process of research over time. Identifying patterns, trends and interconnection between actors as well as the possibility of retrospective analysis. Understanding these relationships help to solidify and restructure our knowledge, interests and obsessions, often perceived as isolated, floating or capricious, and internalize them as part of the same aesthetic search, guiding the next steps to future affinities.

The starting point is a random input, that awakes the curiosity and necessity to know more. A song, album or artist, that derivates into infinite multiple tabs, and each one enables a path; either linear, parallel or transversal to the last previous point. The end of the journey will trace a new sound universe, a personal and unrepeatable map that simulates the possibility of a closed circuit. The end doesn't exist, but this exercise facilitates the navigation...

This set heavily samples the movie Rosemary's Baby and minimally samples a few other horror films. The atmosphere of the party and the effort all of the organizers put into it let me play loose and have a great time.

Valesuchi is much tuned into the necessary physicality and community of dance music, “choosing people’s bodies as a limitless answer.” A fixture across Brazil’s lively club scene, long since proving herself as one of the country’s wiliest and most intuitive selectors, she has shifted fluidly not only between the lively but divergent city scenes of Santiago and Rio De Janeiro, but also maintained a presence on the European club circuit. 

Of course, much has changed in 2020, but between this contribution to #PHANTASYMIX and a blinding Resident Advisor podcast earlier in 2020, not to mention patience, good humour and the remunerations and remixes of her superb album TRAGICOMIC, Valesuchi continues as one of club culture’s most exciting and eclectic figures.
