Brenda is a Chicago-based techno DJ. She is A&R for Format Recordings, resident DJ and co-producer of their weekly techno podcast series, Format.FM, and joint curator of the Format underground warehouse event series. A classically trained pianist and saxophonist, her expansive understanding of structure and rhythm allows her to draw inspiration from all kinds of music, from soulful jazz to dark, gritty drum and bass. Brenda’s talent for laying down everything from pulsing ethereal beats to jackin’ stompers demonstrate her versatility all while maintaining consistent themes of darker, harder techno.

Welcome to DRR Podcast 078, This week we welcome back the very first podcast guest. This time under his own name rather than the Afrozoid project under which he guested last time, from São Paulo, Brazil: Phabian.

Phabian has been a DJ since 1996 and also responsible for the Válvula Records label since 2009 along with his brother Rafael Lopez. Both are part of the Afrozoid duo that started production in 2013.

The duo released their first vinyl EP called Flickering on Válvula Records itself. Afrozoid was released on some of the major labels such as: Counter Pulse, Translucent, Acid Worx, Epione Records, Techno Vinyls, among others.

RE-Connect discovered his passion for music at a very early age in Belgium, when he started exploring his parents music collection.
He was drawn to the electronic music scene, inspired by the endless possibilities of the genre and the immense creative scope it can provide.
Earlier in 2013, RE-Connect started working professionally as a DJ/Producer, playing in and outside Belgium in great events.
Currently, he has created DuisTer and he hosts his own radio show every week, DuisTer Radio Podcast.
