Big Scary Monsters combine the most Illegal of Machines with the double MM standard of Psymmetrix, label buddies that like the same type of sound: clean, different and danceable, these 3 tracks are part of the end result of a project that was started back in 2008. The first track is with Str3tch, one half of Digital Talk, the 2nd with Bom Shanka legend Parasense, and the third purely monster based. Mastered by EVP from WildThings Records, they have been tried and tested so much that it really was about time we released them but with the latest sparkle & polish, so here they are, they're made with love and almost no arguing about the bass, big hugs - The Monsters!

Big Scary Monsters - Professional Idiots - Teaser Mix

Bom Shanka Music are proud to announce the release of “Fresh Blood.” A brand new EP from four new signings to the label. With one track each from Nigel, Occular, Module and Telepathy, it's fresher than a nice cool gin and tonic and guaranteed to make you want to boogie.

It opens with "Cakewalk", the first solo release from Nigel, who gives us an introductory glimpse of a new live act that's destined to become a Bom Shanka favourite.  Inspired by years of organising the best parties in Goa at the mighty Shiva Valley and in-between DJ sets at Europe's biggest festivals he's been hard at work in the studio perfecting his sound.

Next up is "Southern Discomfort" by Occular, the baby of the label at the tender age of 21. Already well known on the UK underground and after taking Goa by storm last season, young Finbar is ready to take on the world with this, his first release on Bom Shanka. Influenced by the grown ups on the label his sound is 100% Bom Shanka.  You can expect big things in the future from the most psychedelic 21 year old on the planet.

Module is Brighton based South African Paul Dunk, half of the innately psychedelic duo Organic Hybrid.  Currently working on a new EP, "Frequent Flyer" is just a small taster of more psychedelic offerings to come.

Last but by no means least is "Doctor Psy" by Telepathy.  A brand new project from Cape Town based William Langroudi.  Already well known on the South African scene for his Hysteria project, with this new live act he has come closer to the Bom Shanka sound and away from the day time sound of his homeland.  One to watch for the future, this first taste of his talents marks an impressive label début.

Mastered by Al Shanka at Shanka Sounds studio in London, this is an EP that will be heard on dance floors everywhere this summer as the Bom Shanka crew blast at all the big festivals in one form or another.

Shanti Mantra is a Hindu Prayer sung for Peace.

t's a mystery when exactly and which planet he came from, but the Boogie Knight is here. This cosmic comic character has a sonic superpower, altering reality with the sounds and rhythms he unleashes, set on bettering the world, and get you moving to his boogiest beats. This is the first chapter of his adventures.

Boogie Knight is his alterego for his own music production.

 Miska learned and played traditional South-African music for years, and started his musical career in a psychedelic-space  band on the percussions and FX instruments. As their concerts warmed up, followed by DJ/sets, he also started playing his own eclectic selection of different genres from triphop to psytrance. Gig by gig he, felt more complete DJ-ing only for the dancefloor and played his first psytrance  DJ-set as „Dr Space“  in 2009. 
Thence he became well-known, and is considered one of the pioneers of the underground Hungarian scene, played for all the domestic crews, as well as parties and festivals abroad in Poland, Romania, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Serbia, Israel, Austria, Italy, Ireland, Slovenia, India, Germany etc. Festivals like Spirit Base, Masters of Puppets, Jungle Calling, Sonica, Dakini, Human Evolution, WAO , MO:DEM and O.Z.O.R.A.  festival.
He is ready to play diverse sets on a wide range of psytrance  adapted to the party without stigmatizing it dark, forest or fullon, mixing in the fringe of different sub-styles to give a groovy psychedelic journey 
Since its establishment part of the RadiOzora Dj rooster,  resident Dj, and stage manager of Ozora festival’s mainstage, and from  2016  he is Label DJ @ Forestdelic records.

After many years of learning music production, and powered by  all the influences he collected during his musical career on percussions, in a band, or as a DJ, in 2020 he released his debut ep “Straight outta Space'' under his producer alterego, the “Boogie Knight”.  The result of his style is a nice mix of everything above… Day and night time dance floor bangers, with funky basslines, tight grooves, percussive synth  polyrhythmic elements, and a touch deep melodies..
