The Freeze are a seminal punk rock band from Cape Cod, Massachusetts that came together in 1978 when they were teenagers.[1][2] The band's first release was the "I Hate Tourists / Don't forget me Tommy" 7 inch which was released in 1980. The Freeze had nine songs appear on the important New England punk rock compilation "This Is Boston, Not L.A." in 1981. They have recorded many full length albums including "Land of the Lost", "Rabid Reaction", "Misery Loves Company" and arguably their greatest album, "Freak Show" which was released in the early 1990s. The Freeze's last studio album entitled "One False Move" was released in 1999. The album's cover art was drawn by the late American artist, writer, and Cape Cod resident Edward Gorey.

I started Dr. Strange Records in 1988 as a place to get rare Punk for a FAIR price. A year later [1989] I released my 7” from a local band called Manson Youth. 25 years later we’re still doing the same; Selling Punk Rock for fair prices and releases awesome music!

Est. in 1988. Started as a mail order for rare punk vinyl. We soon became a record label and eventually a 2300 sq ft record store. 

Let me start off by saying what we are NOT. We are not a "company" or "corporation" making money off punk rock. I've been into punk since 1980 and it is truly a way of life for me. It is who I am and what I will be until I die. I started Dr. Strange Records in 1988 in an effort for like minded people to get rare punk records for FAIR prices. My "hobby" has not only turned into the biggest mail-order for punk in all the world, but also a record label (in 1989) and a store in California (opened in 1997).

We're small...there's myself, my wife Crystal and my friends: Der-Der, Chachi, Lips, Pippy, Trevolta, Dusty Dirt, and Jinx the Cat doing the best we can to get you the best "stuff" for the best prices. So please keep that in mind when ordering. We always do our best to treat others the way WE would want to be treated.
