After making his last appearance on the RAM Records 2021 annual, Russian maestro Nuvertal draws into the New Year through a brand-new single on RAM’s sister-label ProgRAM. Having already featured on the imprint through its Programmed compilation series, it's his second standalone release on the imprint and one which is sure to lend to his artistic development as the year progresses.

Both ‘Shiva’ and ‘Anastasia’ nod to the evolution of Nuvertal and his journey for 2022. With the shifting beats which sit throughout ‘Shiva’ adding to its layered vocal chants and the rolling rhythms of ‘Anastasia’ providing a diverse flipside alongside its 32 bar switch up, Nuvertal is showing the textures of his production. Here was something wrong with his latest creation. It sat very still, staring with tense eyes at him in silence as he leant over the altar of his work. His instruments glinted with the reflected gold of the candle flames that lit his space, the cradle of life where he replanted embers of consciousness in the infertile grounds of the dead. Up until now they had stirred into reality with the confused motion of limbs, eyes rolling and hands moving desperately along the cracks of the floor and the edges of the doorway, seeking fervently a way out. But this one was different – her eyes had snapped sharply open, she sat upright, and since that moment her stillness tainted the room with a quiet malice. Her eyes followed him as he moved, inspecting his work beyond an arm’s length. The black pits of her pupils like twin gravity wells, cold tendrils reaching out and compelling him closer as though death’s hand brushed the back of his neck and whispered timeless truths with a whisper into his ear. He drew back, looking down at the dark blood on his hands as her eyes flicked over them. Reaching behind him, he grasped his chair, sitting down slowly, his legs trembling slightly before buckling beneath his weight. The oppression of her stare bore down upon him. 

The relentless shuffle of MINDSCAPE's deadly REANIMATOR LP continues, as the ultimate power of Chapter II is unleashed on the EATBRAIN listener base. Bringing the next 4 tracks of what's turning out to be one of neurofunk's most solid albums, Mindscape's veteran experience shines through on each of the cuts, with his awareness of where the frontier of the genre lies sharpening the blades of his beautifully frenetic assault. Striking a perfect balance between dynamic, heavy and at points euphoric, the 2nd sequence of the Reanimator LP plants a sure-footed step on the pathway to unveiling an exquisite communication direct from the core of the Eatbrain brotherhood.

Within the vast plain of a once feral land glistened a metropolis of undeniable beauty, a monument to those who had triumphed over what had lain in this place before. Brightly as it shone however, the shadows cast by its towering spires told a different story. The creation of such beauty had been an ugly thing indeed, and still within its darkest alleys there were those who remembered what had been and what they had suffered. In secret they met, practitioners of the old ways who stood determined to see the return of the land’s natural state. They had watched the land carefully, seeing what others did not within each passing day’s minute differences. Thus, when the day of their ascendancy at last arrived, their ritual had already begun.

Those living at the city’s outskirts reported it first, a low rumbling that began to shake the heirlooms from their shelves. Quickly this turbulence began to spread through the city, and by the time it had reached the center the metropolis’ reckoning had arrived. A great beast had begun to smash its way through the city’s outlying areas, trampling all in its path with the unrestrained fury of the wilds. With singular intent in charged headlong towards the city’s center, reducing shops and homes to rubble without caution or care. Wrought from the flesh of one of the plain's native creatures, the great beast had been brought forth by the practitioners of the old ways to carry out their righteous vengeance. Thus they cackled as the perpetrators of their subjugation feld beneath its thunderous hooves whilst screaming out a single monstrous name, HOGZILLA.

EATBRAIN veteran Mindscape returns to the label under the newly revised moniker MNDSCP, continuing in the work of his original alias under the novel title with his latest EP on the label. Following the release of his three part Reanimator LP on the label in 2018, MNDSCP now presents HOGZILLA as his latest body of work, setting the stage for future releases under his new alias with four tracks powered by his singularly tech focused sonics.

Program’s seminal 100th release has finally dropped and so far, it’s delivered two bodies of work; an array of 54 exclusives through its most recent package as well as a sampler which acted as its prelude. For the next segment, the sister-label of Ram Records is unleashing yet more new music. With it comes a host of reworks, taking classic Program tracks from the imprint’s catalogue and having roster guests add their spin to each selection, following in the wake of their colossal Skantia 'Bassline Secret' reboot. 
Whilst fellow Russian artist Nais takes on the sounds of Teddy Killerz and Coppa through ‘Jackyl & Hyde’, Legion & Logam’s ‘Afterthought’ is given the deluxe treatment by Gerra & Stone. What follows is Legion & Logam stepping up to give their own version of Gerra & Stone’s ‘L.I.E.S’, Kung’s expert reimagining of Kelle’s ‘Repirator’, Levela taking Wickaman & RV’s ‘Sound Clash’ through his own lens, Subview adding his take on ‘The Truth’ from Stealth with Fats on vocals and Monument Banks making a welcome addition alongside Aperio’s ‘Grey To Blue’. Then to finalise the track list, Zero Zero’s rework of MD ‘Fiction’ and the Sound in Noise mould of Frankee’s ‘Firehorn’ leaves a delicious taste. 

Overall, it’s yet another celebration of what the platform has spent nearly a decade creating. So once again… It’s time to get with the Program. One which remains as groundbreaking as ever, 100 releases on.
