This  is an entirely acid (think 303 sounds from acid house at 174+ BPM) drum and bass mix dedicated to the Viva Acid crew in Chicago. Viva Acid is a cultural, social, and musical festival across select areas of the city that features multiple club nights that explore the history of this iconic sound, live panels of cultural mainstays in the rich music scene in Chicago. 
They also feature speakers, film, production workshops, and advice on networking in the city. Here are some of the featured topics: “Claiming Space, Shaping Culture” about how we can protext musical space and resist corporate takeover of these spaces, “Thriving Through Opposition: The Trans Experience”, and the “Ableton Playground” hosted by FEMME HOUSE.

Viva Acid occurs from Oct 2-5 2025 and will continue to run into the future. Consider connecting to the crew and lookout for recaps and recordings of some of these talks.

Happy Monday, and thank you for checking out this week's episode of Sport Mode FM. For this one, I've been fortunate enough to feature a guest mix from a very close friend, and mentor figure of mine. He goes by the moniker of Abe Froman, and is the head of the American Junglist platform. This individual is responsible for me even pursuing a mix series in the first place. I'd contemplated it for a while, even before I met him, and he was the one who gave me the final push to proceed forward with it, and I'll never forget that.

This mix is nothing short of the usual clean and cohesive mixing style that he's established his own reputation for, and it's a privilege to be able to have him featured as the first guest for the reboot.
