I met this weeks guest a few months ago in Tampa Florida at a fun little venue called the TK Lounge. Me and my friend Joey opened for her actually. She's a well known BAD ASS! Among other things, she is a label owner, globe trotting DJ, Song writer, busy human, and a pretty interesting artist. Yazmin C Bio
Yazmin C is a rising DJ, vocalist, and producer hailing from Manchester. Known for her revolutionary switches, subliminal doubles, and unique mixing style, she keeps the energy tightly-packed throughout her sets with an eclectic mix of remix and original tracks spanning jump up and 4x4 drum and bass, to dark rollers and dancefloor.

With just under 3 years since her first show, she’s played for events such as The Warehouse Project, HomeBass, Tearout Festival, Hit & Run and many more, as well as supporting some of the biggest names in the industry, including Hedex, Turno, Bou, Aries, A Little Sound, Sota, Sub Zero, and Kaz.

Back in Manchester, Yazmin holds residencies for Off The Bloc and Bloc2Bloc, as well as working behind the scenes to push out content, new releases, and upcoming events for the brand. She’s also created a subsidiary of Off The Bloc called “Energy”, which aims to get more women involved in the industry by offering free DJ lessons and sets to upcoming female DJs and producers.

Jay Cipriani Bio
Jay Cipriani is an events promoter at Off the Bloc and has been involved with Bloc2Bloc in Manchester for around 10 years. Jay came up with the concept for Energy – a night for female DJs at Off the Bloc and handed the night over to Yazmin C to run with it!

Jay is a videographer and photographer and has directed over 90 music videos for artists including Anaïs, Skepsis, Sparkz, Whiney, Doktor, Turno, Inja to name a few!

We cannot believe that it has been a whole year already since the launch of our Vibe City concept.

In 2023 we brought you not 1, but 2 huge liquid Drum and bass  compilations with a heavy focus on the talent of tomorrow alongside some of our permanent fixtures on the label, delving head first into new waters for them and taking themselves way outside of their comfort zone.

And after the massive success of last years compilation we are thrilled to announce Vibe City Volume 3 for 2024 with our biggest original compilation yet with 24 exclusive Liquid Drum and bass inspired tracks from some amazing artists from around the world.

This one has been over six months in the making and yet again we have gone above and beyond to bring new talent to the forefront on the label and give Liquid Drum and bass its just deserves.

And what Vibe City compilation would be complete without customised artwork focusing on some of the best Game inspired look for the masses.

For this year the focus is on the 80’s board game Guess Who? Where we have transformed all our artists into characters from the classic board game.

We have even gone as far to complete a real life board game featuring all the producers which will go on sale the week of release.

And now let's talk about the music, starting with our `album sampler` which hits DSP’s on September 6th.

“Time Lost” produced by the ever talented `Pyxis` alongside the DNB Super trio, `Sola` is a beautifully crafted soon to be summer anthem plucked right from the fields of this year’s festivals.

And if that was not enough we have brought in the big guns, by featuring the one and only `Shayper` who lends us 3 tracks from his Iteration series from our very own Tape Pack series.

We also have one of the most talked about Junglists at the moment producing music. he has one of the biggest musical outputs there is and has released on every major label doing Jungle or Liquid in the past 4 years from the likes of Hospital, Ram, Jungle Cakes, Sub-Liminal, Liondub, Deep In The Jungle, Formation and many more. 

We are of course talking about the man like Conrad Subs who brings us 2 amazing slabs of Liquid-Jungle influenced bangers.

Permanent fixtures to Dirtbox compilations are also on hand with Sigmus, Abidance, Beskar, Skuff, Lee UHF & DJ Komatose dropping us some flava from their repertoire to spice up the release.

We also see a different side to one of our favourite producers also. with Jump-Up stalwart `L3MMY DUBZ` giving us his stamp on the liquid sound
with 2 huge tracks.

We borrow GTA label residents Locoda & JD Nobody who have both given us amazing music for your listening pleasure.

And finally a whole host of first timers to the release from around the world in the form of Canis x Sirius, Blipin, David Saturn, Jane Doe and Akuma.

This for us IS a definitive release on the label that we hope you enjoy playing as much as we did putting together.

Leaving The World Behind

I made a rather unexpected EP inspired when I tried out the Peripeteia demo by 90sGraphics.

The dark atmosphere in the game was a strong inspiration for this music.

I also created an illustrative album art, where I could try drawing Marie again (and I really enjoyed it). Overall, a small EP, but I'm very glad I did it.

Always Be There

Flipper returns to Codename with his first full length EP for the label, which perfectly demonstrates this incredible artist's unique and flowing multi-instrumental fusion of ethnic vibes with jungle and Drum and Bass rhythms.

Opener ΙΩPOLIS brings you mythical Eastern Mediterranean soundscapes, fusing ancient instruments such as the duduk and santur. Five minutes of non-repetitive electronic music that will captivate and enchant any dance floor.

'Jungle Takes You' drives things into a different direction with its darkcore / junglism influences alongside hypnotic leads, deep strings and rolling breaks.

The second half of the EP looks towards remixes, with Flipper's remix of Toni Bassi's 'Junak' seamlessly adding Greek flavours to the existing Indian mix, before Moakz contributes the melancholic 'Breaking Your System' remix of Flippers 'Don't Blame', a full tailspin of a rework, both evoking memories of classic era 90's hardcore and also packed with emotional punch.]
