I haven't enjoyed a mix as much as this one in ages. Postively rocking! Can't fault it. I wouldn't be able to stop dancing for the duration if I heard it in a club.

Gaining recognition after signing to Adam Freelands label Marine Parade in the early 2000's their unique sound gathered a high following and had a very influential effect in the early Nuskool Breaks scene.

This mix is from 2005 and a showcase of their sound at that time.

Basically Tayo is a legend when it comes to the breakbeat scene.....

After paying his warm up dues as a drum and bass DJ alongside Fabio, Grooverider and Peshay, Tayo set up Friction with fellow members of the breakbeat elite, Adam Freeland and Rennie Pilgrem and watched the club and it’s residents become a focal point for the UK breakbeat sound.

With other residencies back in the day at Fabric, Bugged Out! and Big Beat Boutique to name a few and various appearances on the Kiss FM Breakbeat show Tayo made a name for himself as a DJ playing along side the likes of Carl Cox, Layo & Bushwacka, Hybrid, Lee Burridge and Craig Richards as well as the endless people he met while on his travels around the world.

After a 2 month stint in Australia playing various clubs and festivals Tayo put together the exclusive mix for Triple J Radio back in January 2004.

Orebeat is one of the forerunners of the Garage sound in Spain, component of the promoter EL GARAGE Music and he's bringing us a fire of a mix to the RIPEcast. We're honored to have him. Here's what Jaime had to say about the mix:

Orebeat RIPEcast Exclusive Mix

Heavyweight Breaks 2020 is a snapshot of the hottest bass fuelled breaks released over the past 12 months mixed by myself Skool of Thought.

Those of you who have been following me will know I released the first Heavyweight Breaks mix CD on SuperCharged back in 2002. The approach for that mix then is the same now - 10 extremely carefully selected tracks which showcase the very best of the scene. 

The trick for me has always been to select tracks that are bass-heavy without being tear-out and uplifting without being cheesy. 

Naturally, I would like to extend my huge thanks to the heavyweight of breaks  - the producers who featured in this mix.

I hope you enjoy the mix.
