After the success of the first A-sides compilation in 2012, Adam Beyer has decided its time to release another. With Adam’s stature steadily growing as one of the leading talents in the Techno scene and the rise of Drumcode, the standard of demo’s that have been sent to Adam have been top notch. Adam has now decided to release two compilations with 10 tracks each, consisting of tracks that Adam has tried and tested. There are also new artists that have been invited to release on Drumcode for this compilation and others who are a staple in Drumcode’s core family. Combining both old and new talents Drumcode have come up with something unique and distinctive to make this two-part compilation something extra special.

Presenting you my new “Open Source” project, a string of 12 releases over the course of the next 12 months. Every first Friday of the month will be marked with 1 or more songs in a release that is different than usual. With Open Source I am granting you the rights to use my music in any way possible, therefore I am not only releasing a single mp3-file but the Stems, Midi Files and Synth-Presets too. 

When I create music I am often thinking of the live-performance situation already, it’s me who decides where, when and how I am sharing my music with you. Until the release-date of any of my music it always has been my “property” up to that point so to speak. But even after buying the file the user is still not able to fully get creative with the music because it’s protected by copyright control and other creativity limiting factors. 

I am going to change that. 

With these Open Source releases I want to grant you ownership of all aspects of the songs, and it is up to you to decide how you want to use it in your most creative way.

I hope you perceive this message as an open invitation to remix me, sample my sounds or add your touch to these 20 stems. If you create anything with it feel free to hit me up via dm or email and share your ideas and concepts with me. I might eventually end up releasing a few remixes too, so let’s see where this takes us together!

Continuing their beloved EP series of murky, ambient techno excursions, prolific Milan-based collective and imprint Just This present the Sub Zero EP from label regulars Hunter/Game and Altman. This four-track package is due for release *date*.

‘Iceland’ is is a sparse, marching workout of syncopated chord stabs and cyclical melodies, followed by the title track, a sub-heavy roller with unnerving distortions and a stripped back percussive motif.

‘Arctic’ dives straight into the core of a snowstorm, driven forwards by a haunting melody and relentless bass frequencies, closing the glacially the Sub Zero EP package.
