Drumcode treasures Alan Fitzpatrick and Joel Mull link for their debut collaboration, complemented by a rare Adam Beyer remix. This is special in every sense

Tis the season for something different; interesting collaborations and the broadening of creative boundaries is the order of the day. Long-time friends and techno colleagues Alan Fitzpatrick and Joel Mull are the latest to connect for a fresh production outing, ‘We Don’t Know Anything Yet’. Inspired by the Buddhist saying ‘Nothing is forever except change’, the duo work alongside Swedish band Frangie to craft an ascendent techno cut that explores existential questions about the future, all the while being propelled by a strong rhythmic underbelly.

Beyer’s first remix in two years is inspired. The boss sharpens his focus on the vocal, while teasing out the melody, ripening the track for a mid-morning post-peak-time moment when the sun starts to bathe the dancefloor is a hazy gentle glow. A masterstroke.

“Listening to the track, it’s obviously very connected to what’s going on in the world right now. When I heard it for the first time, I fell in love with the parts so much I decided to do a remix on the spot. It’s two of the old school crew, so the release is very dear to my heart.” — Adam Beyer

A man that needs no introduction - a core member of the Kraftek family - Brennen Grey makes his return to the label with a diverse 3 track EP, including a collab with Pleasurekraft on the EP's title track.

The opener, "Full Frontal" is a peak-time affair sure to please dancefloors, followed by the title track's much more moody and atmospheric soundscape. Finishing off the EP is the more ravey "Way Back" - perfect for more warehouse-oriented gigs.

Eclipse is Hydroxyde and Sandro Fosco's debut release on contrast recordings. The hard-hitting, yet melodically sophisticated record begins with a gradual introduction that guides the listener into an entrancing atmosphere led by a heavily sidechained synthesizer. Various breaks throughout the track lead to immense drops of sound enveloped by complex polyrhythms. The record pays homage to classic 909 sounds with a modern twist. In this collaboration, Hydroxyde and Sandro Fosco demonstrate a competency in combining hard hitting basslines with rich melodies - a signature that resonates in their own individual releases as well.

Stiv Hey is back on Unrilis with his first solo EP for the label having previously featured on a mixed artist EP released by the imprint.

A rising star of the Italian techno scene, Stiv Hey has been steadily rising through the ranks with his releases on labels including Spektre's Respekt, Spartaque's Codex and Dubfire's SCI+TEC. 

Already playing regular DJ gigs across Europe, this four track EP is testament to Stiv Hey's innate intuition of how to work a dance floor.

'Engage' opens the release with a thundering bassline and pulsating rhythms, before the dark and stripped back groove of 'Sonder' ramps up the tension. Tearing out the speakers are the epic pads of 'Techniques' and boxing off the EP is an intense intro mix of Engage.
