Theo Nasa returns to We Are The Brave with ‘Sour Punch’, another helping of his signature mind-bending arrangements, featuring a remix from the elusive UK producer Mani Festo.

The South London producer’s title track is fast paced, rowdy and confrontational. Theo charges in with rolling 909 drums, tweaky bleeping acid lines and hard hitting rave stabs.

Club Glow frontman Mani Festo takes on remix duties, offering us a nostalgic yet futuristic take on the original. His debut on WATB sees the award-nominated label head fusing high energy junglist loops with hypnotic synths to create the ultimate breakbeat vibe.

Eli Brown returns to We Are The Brave with 'How Do I Belong', his second release on the label almost 2 years before his debut release 'Come Together'. Heavily supported by Adam Beyer, Carl Cox, Alan Fitzpatrick, Solardo & more, Eli Brown is widely renowned for his hard and dark approach to production, paving the way for releases with Truesoul, Factory 93, Ultra & more, not to mention his own imprint Arcane. And now, as the club doors begin to open again, Eli Brown steps up to unveil his next release 'How Do I Belong'.

We kick off with the title track. Dynamic percussion is quickly met by a gritty acid line, combining effectively with snippets of vocals. This is an energetic track which purposefully marches the listener forward, constantly gathering pace. Next up is 'Losing Control', a techno laced production which skilfully intertwines a complex arpeggiated rhythm with a crisp kick drum

We blinked and it’s been four years since Ilario Alicante’s last EP on Drumcode. Back in 2017, he contributed the excellent four-tracker ‘Figures & Echoes’, but has
never been far from Adam Beyer’s mind, having regularly played alongside one another at Cocoon Ibiza. The Italian’s stripped back sound gets under your skin, both purposeful and hypnotic. With ‘Rave Soul’, he’s added extra colour to the palette, imbuing the work with bags of sentimentality and jubilation as we collectively return to the dancefloor.

The EP opens with ‘Rave Atlas’, which is propelled by plenty of old school effects and a dynamic vibe. ‘Again’ asks “who were you with last night” and packs a trippy after-hours energy. ‘Rave Soul’, continues with the throwback style of ‘Rave Atlas’ and hammers like a 90s warehouse party, driven by insistent piano stabs.

November the 5th meet RSRRCT to return to CODEX with a heavy hitting two track release! 
The lead song, "The Day They Came For Me" is a rolling heavy kick laden dance floor oriented track. It has a strong hypnotic lead with a vocal like synth designed after a similar one in the song "Oh Yeah", by the group Yello. The B side is another dark techno track with a stabby bass that opens up throughout the track and vocal line recorded by RSRRCT himself.

Liverpool producer Tenzella returns to We Are The Brave with his highly anticipated ‘Santiago’ EP.

The lead track ‘Frazil’ oozes jack with it’s deep rolling subs and intricate hi-hats. White noise textures drift alongside the Detroit polyrhythms, piano stabs and racing claps creating a mesmerising palette of sound.

The second track ‘Santiago’ is a fast-paced techno thumper, it’s tribal hardgroove percussion reminiscent of the techno sound of the early 2000’s. Latin jazz trumpets and South American vocals bring the carnival flavour to accompany the tracks relentless energy.

UK born techno talent BEC joins Alan Fitzpatrick’s We Are The Brave roster with her debut single ‘Marimba’. Renowned for her releases on Drumcode, Second State and her own BEC label, the Berlin based artist is quickly captivating the techno scene with her unique production style. A self confessed ’studio geek’,

BEC’s trademark sound is innovative and high energy. Her musical output is perfectly weighted; well swung and built on high pressure drums. The artist’s latest offering ‘Marimba’ sees her channel the vibe and atmospheric euphoria of the summerfestival season. Vibrant percussion and marching drums build to a crescendo, accompanied by techno horns and warehouse rattling kicks. “I admire BEC’s style, this is a killer debut single on WATB. I played Marimba all summer!"

Adam Beyer’s new EP titled ‘Teach Me’ is an accomplished piece of work that highlights Beyer's year thus far. 'Teach Me' starts with some eerie chords before the distinctive vocal kick in and the track drops into a rumbling techno track. ‘Darlek’ uses rhythmic beeps and huge synth stab to create a funky rhythm before the atmospheric pads create a beautiful setting for this incredible techno track. ‘Stop Talking’ is a deeper offering from Beyer using weird and unusual noises to create and interesting piece of work that is helped along by the throbbing bass underlying in the track. ‘Spaceman’ uses a rhythmic vocal, percussion and sub bass to turn this track into a funky techno piece.

Adam Beyer is back on Drumcode with an impressive array of tracks that will get the senses tingling and shows us what Drumcode is all about. These 4 tracks are deep and almost melancholic in their approach to techno, using effects to really help enforce an ambience only Beyer can achieve within his productions. The under lying throbbing of the drums drives this EP into the forefront of the heads down Drumcode sound and have been heard in many of Beyer’s phenomenal sets throughout the year.

The Drumcode founder is measured when it comes to signing music to his own imprint, biding his time till the stars align. His last individual outing was 2015’s ‘Stone Flower’ EP, which included the thrilling label favourite ‘What You Need’. A succession of classy collaborations followed, linking with DC’s most vital artists highlighted by ‘Your Mind’ with Bart Skils, proclaimed one of the best tracks of the last decade by Mixmag.

An EP that gives a nod to uncertain times, while remaining resolutely positive, ‘No Defeat No Retreat’ was written during Beyer’s fruitful production sessions during lockdown. The opening track, ‘Park People’ sets the pace with an energetic, 80’s new wave creating the track’s spine. Its hypnotic energy stems from a powerful synth riff and vocal sample culminating in a skilfully balanced track that neatly combines the old with the new. The title track is a study in contrasts, deftly crafting a muted, nagging vocal hook and infectious bassline into a slice of forward-facing, edgy techno. With its subtle, undulating layers of melody building in the background, it ushers in an understated sense of euphoria, making it a perfect end-of-set mood-maker. A thrilling return!

A rare treat for Drumcode faithful: A-Sides Vol.10 is set to drop in December, the second edition of the beloved series to come in 2020.

Fuelled by the extra time and space to be creative during lockdown, Drumcode’s collective of artists have stepped up. Across 17 contributions, the producers have gone deeper into their sonic repertoire, crafting powerful, yet reflective works that capture the range of the label’s sound.

Jay Lumen leads the way with a rousing riff-driven weapon, ‘Galactic Rainbow’, while Ramon Tapia brings us the muscular gem ‘Drum Control’, mixing up ruffneck techno with a barrage of synapse-tickling synths in the second half. Both rousing highlights of the compilation.
Victor Ruiz, Drumcode’s most prolific contributor in 2020, dishes up ‘Love Story’, led by a huge vocal lead. Zimmz also returns with ‘Tension’, which deftly combines deep squelchy grooves with a silky synth interlude. Thomas Hoffknecht follows up his debut on Vol.9 with ‘Escape’, keeping listeners on their toes with dynamic, choppy shifts throughout. Veerus joins with another stirring addition ‘I Know’, reinforcing why Beyer rates him so highly.

Elsewhere a string of debutants feature: buzzy newcomer Lilly Palmer gives us ‘Amnesie’, a brilliantly pummelling and eerie cut; Alex Lentini & Stomp Boxx serve up ‘Expanders’ mixing up drone effects, trippy vocals and an unsettling melody line; and Patrik Berg’s ‘Activated’ is full-bodied techno that drops down into funky rhythms.

Long-time DC family member Bart Skils brings his A-game with the thrilling no-nonsense ‘Solid State’ that hits like a steam train. Likewise, Alan Fitzpatrick who brings a momentous slab of techno energy with ‘Rochus’, while Thomas Schumacher, now feeling like a regular on the imprint, crafts another dark techno opus, this time in collaboration with CAITLIN.

There’s even a special appearance by the chief Adam Beyer, who makes a welcome return with the progressive-tinged ‘Changes’, driven by organic tones and spacey atmospherics. The track stands as his first original contribution to A-Sides since 2017.
