Italian producer Ruben Mandolini lands on Great Stuff Recordings with a tasty 3-tracker, after having made appearances on Toolroom Trax, Riva Starr&#8217;s Snatch! Records and Mario Piu&#8217;s Fahrenheit Recordings. Channelling his country&#8217;s techno heritage, he&#8217;s come up with an excellent little collection.

Freaky Deaky is drenched in droning, atonal bass and super-snappy beats, moodily stomping its way through trippy vocal snippets and mind-bending FX on its way to a huge breakdown and drop combo. Carefully examine the layers of murkiness and you&#8217;ll find some low end funk there too.

Inside Me takes that tinge of funk and pushes into the track&#8217;s rhythm, discordant synth and percussive sounds punctuating the groove in infectious fashion as some seriously low slung bass throbs away. Super-sized breakdowns provide respite and contrast and help to complete a succinct but highly effective DJ weapon.

Orange County rounds off with more urgency and heavy beats, pounding the listener into submission with its punchy swagger. Clever little fills and phat drum programming sass things up, and the result is pure dancefloor gold with a brilliantly swung groove.

Slam’s new three track single flawlessly encaptures the modern Drumcode sound. Movement trundles forward with snare rolls and funky percussion. The synth line keeps the funky groove rolling along until the snare roll break where it then crescendos effortlessly back into the track. The Realms synth line weaves in and out of the beat, filtering up and down to create intensity before unleashing itself into aural pleasure. Irrational Numbers takes an unusual rhythmic synth pattern and creates a groove that will make the dance floor shuffle.  Layered with pads, the track uses depth to create a distinctive character.

Adam Beyer and Ida Engberg come together to create a new track after the success of the highly acclaimed 'Lovecraft'. 'Unanswered Question' uses a weighty kick drum and a sensuous vocal before the track breaks into some groovy synth stabs. Julian Jeweil's remix of 'Unanswered Question' is a late night dubbed out version that compromises of a groove that pulsates throughout and falls into the original synth stabs before rising back into the funky, dubbed out groove. The Dense & Pika remix uses unusual percussion to produce a chunky groovy rhythm. When the track breaks it takes the listener on an eerie journey before it kicks back in to the chunky drum beat. The final track 'Virga' is a more melodic techno offering that finishes the single off with a classy finish.

Sam’s EP boot’s off with ‘Chocolate’, a track that builds and builds using detuned synths, stabs and funky drums to make any dance floor erupt. ‘Domino’ is a track that’s bassline drones underneath its own distinctive synth line to keep the drums rolling along steadily. The title track ‘Black Leather’ is everything you would expect in a Drumcode record; a subtle throbbing bass line which, keeps the track moving before the synth stabs enrapture the track and twist it into a dark, throbbing composition. The final track ‘Daegon’ uses dubbed out drums to incorporate a synth melody line that will blow your socks off and rounds off this well shaped EP.

Harvey’s highly anticipated single starts with the title track ‘Lost’ that comprises of a catchy vocal hook and rhythmic synth stabs to set the mood. This is layered over a straight, serious beat that has lots of energy and grit to make any speaker stack shake. ‘Find My Mind’ uses a mixture of reversed and straight hats to create a funky groove that is sprinkled with hypnotic synth stabs and a mesmerising vocal. ‘Hard To See’ uses a funky sub bass in combination with some swinging drums to create a groove that will rattle the speakers and bring the house down.

The EP starts with Mikael Jonasson’s, ‘Benefit of the Doubt’ which uses dark, melodic bleeps to create tension before the epic chord stabs kick in that resonate over the throbbing bass line. Adam Beyer steps up with the second track ‘Never Really Left Home’ that uses a rhythmic synth-line to create a dark and moody piece of music. Ida Engberg then delivers her unique style of techno using old rave sounds and a huge hoover style synth to create a driving techno track that will keep any dancefloor moving. The Manic Brother’s supply another big track named ‘Different Directions’ using reverberated stabs to create an atmospheric, but still functional track with lots of rhythmic percussion thrown in. Patrick Siech then steps up with the next track, ‘Kill Room’ that also uses atmospheric percussion and stabs to build into a funky drum groove. Joel Mull presents the sixth track on the compilation; ‘Rimson’ that uses hypnotic drums to captures the listener’s attention to lead into a floaty synth and vocal line before the track introduces a pulsating bass line. ‘Second Coming’ is the next offering with Petter B using recurrent percussion to full effect to create a purposeful, heavy hitting techno track. The final track by Cari Lekebusch called ‘Xylopeggiator’, conveys a dark, pounding 5 AM rhythm that uses vocal samples and a melodic synth to create a hypnotic drum pattern.

It’s the pre-squeeze leading up to the big release. Mobilee presents this double-track treat on both vinyl and digital. 

The A-side tears it up with „Hartwood“, Rodriguez Jr.’s biggest hit to date. With a series of alternating and repetitive keyboard strokes and soulful lyrics bouncing on a thick velvet cushion of rich background base, this number is guaranteed to appeal to the industry’s most respected players. Already landing on the hard drives of Pete Tong, Laurent Garnier and Simian Mobile Disco “Hartwood” has gained a bit of airtime as loyal listeners burn for the final release date.

The B-side features Anja Schneider with a full out female power vocal number ironically titled, “Henry & Lars”. This track takes form from a very cuddly story that took place at BPM Festival in Mexico as Anja’s little guy and a stuffed animal named “Lars” found love and friendship in a little girl and her stuffed-animal she called “Henry”. And so the story went on…

The two outstanding tracks leading up the 7th mobilee back to back compilation on April 5th is just the tip of the iceberg! Look out for another digital release „mobilee back to back part 2“ before the back to back hits online stores and shelve.

‘Vertigo’ is the A side on this four track EP by Roberto Capuano that uses reverberated kick drum’s and piano chords to create a groove that was designed for peak-time play. The second track, ‘Inversion’ uses rising and filtering synths with the use of space and influxes of pitched hi hats and percussion loops to create a 5am track that will keep people rooted to their spot. ‘New Chapter’ uses a repetitive percussion-like stab to keep the deep atmospheric sounds together over the industrial techno drums.The final track ‘Earth’ uses phased sporadic stabs to create an interesting groove that compliments the driving drums that are ever present.

Starting with his track ‘Tonal Response’, Petter B has incorporated chunky drums with a melodic synth to give this track an industrial feel that will leave its stamp in any club. ‘Filtered Tone Sequence’ uses a tonal sequence and filtered cut offs to give this track depth and character. On the flip side, ‘Tone Reproduction’ uses short stabs and a reverberated percussion to create a phrase that has a perfect juxtaposition with the bass to create a funk driven groove. ‘Atonal Dub’ is the final track to close the EP and is based around a weighty rhythm section to create an absurd groove to keep the dance floor moving.

Mumbai Science presents their latest work, the ‘1975 EP’. Two no-nonsense club-tracks, inspired by dirty warehouse techno but cheerfully colored with weird glitchy synths and catchy vocal snippets. The title track ‘1975’ features a deep male voice carelessly asking the crowd “So, What do you wanna do”. The answer is self-evident: "Party all night long and forget about our boyfriends!"

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. But not when we’re talking about supermodels. The second track, ‘Models’, follows the same recipe as ‘1975’: overdriven warehouse techno extravagance with the lyrics paying tribute to Mumbai Science’s favorite… models. Some will say it’s a blatant rip-off of Teachers from Daft Punk, others will call it a homage. But does Mumbai science even care? Kiesekoms explains: “I don’t know man, we just made this track on one of those drunk afternoons. Is it getting released? Really? Well, I just hope we won’t get beat up by the French mafia again.”

London heroes Hoxton Whores have been doing their thing together for a decade now, but there are no signs of slouching on their hot new EP. 

Things Happen on the flip channels uplifting &#8216;90s euro-house and welds it to seductive funk-fuelled contemporary 4/4 to excellent effect. A cute chime melody provides the main hook, with a dreamy female vocal recalling euphoric classics of yesteryear and a huge bassline doing the damage where it matters. Subtle strings and sidechained pads create a spacious atmosphere, with plenty of clever FX trickery along the way to keep things interesting. The sound of summer is very much here. 

Male vocalist Terri B joins them for Beat In My Head, a lively bit of house music that&#8217;s ripe to usher in the Ibiza season ahead. Terri&#8217;s deep voice serves up a soulful, hypnotic vocal refrain, which the Whores splice between analog bass funk and bright synth stabs. Mysterious, shimmering guitars add texture and drama, with head-nodding bongos completing the compelling blend of sounds.

Alan Fitzpatrick's new EP 'In the Beginning' makes the most of the industrial techno style
with ambient percussion to create space and rhythm giving ‘In the Beginning’ a big
warehouse feel. The droning synth carries the track through before a melodic synth line
gives the track the boldness that has seen the Alan Fitzpatrick sound become infamous
around the world. Lexicon uses a pitch bending synth as well as old-school synth strings
and pads to create another atmospheric track that will be a staple in any techno set.
