Paul Ritch is no stranger to Drumcode and has returned with an outstanding single featuring three tracks that will dominate DJ sets. The first track ‘Run Baby Run’ entertains us with an arpeggiated chord sequence that is accompanied by percussion-like synth sounds before bursting into a thick-layered sequence of sound. The dark and dubby side of the single see’s Paul’s ‘Astral’ bring a funky sleazed out groovy track that also uses a discerning melody. ‘Mind Insistence’ is a dark 5am groove that will keep the dance floor swaying in the early hours with it’s tripped out feel and syncopated percussion.

Gregor Tresher kicks off 2015 looking to break new soil with his first ever full release for John Digweed's Bedrock Records. 

Last year was as hectic as ever for the Gregor and he came into it on high from the success of his artist album Nightcolours and having closed out 2013 by releasing an astonishing Laurent Garnier remix of the title track, on his own imprint. 

Time to relax a little maybe? Not a chance. January saw the remixed version of the album hit the stores and this was backed within a few weeks by 'Taurus', Gregor's enticing collaboration with Petar Dundov. The summer saw him remix the Chymera classic 'Shadowdancer' and he closed 2014 with the superb 'Midas / Disturber' double-header. 

Somewhat of a musical chameleon, Tresher is as at home creating deeper shades of house for the likes of Moon Harbour and Ovum as he is techno rhythms for Music Man, Cocoon and Drumcode. 

With label boss Digweed a huge fan, Bedrock is yet another perfect fit for the German and he opens his account with the mighty, melodic and Kraken'esque 'Goliath' and the razor-sharp lightning bolt that is 'Stormblade'.

Hot on the heels of the A-Sides Volume 5 compilation, Enrico Sangiuliano makes his return to Drumcode with his highly anticipated EP ‘Moon Rocks’. The heavy hitting four track EP shines a light on Sangiuliano’s tight, thundering production skills. The hoover heavy lead track ‘Moon Rocks’ is packed with booming percussion, intricate synths and brooding crescendos. The EP encapsulates Sangiuliano’s wide spectrum of sounds ranging from the fat bass line of ‘Moon Rocks’ to the more delicate harmonies shown within the ‘Dutch Kiss’ mixes whilst ‘Ghettoblaster’ sits somewhere in between.

Drumcode continues its commitment to releasing the scene’s most cutting-edge techno. With releases this year already from Adam Beyer, Pig&Dan, Alan Fitzpatrick, Dense & Pika and Julian Jeweil, this July see’s the return of Enrico Sangiuliano with ‘Astral Projection’.

After his remix of Moby’s of ‘Why Does My Heart Feel So Bad’ back in November last year, Enrico sought creative inspiration from his travels, transcending that into his productions and long studio sessions during the winter months. The result brings a mind and body melting release from the Italian producer.

The title track ‘Astral Projection’ is a captivating, big room techno masterpiece. Deep reverberations punch alongside a sinisterly crisp percussive drive. Launching into a groove laden synth modulation of low end textures, it breaks down into an ethereal amalgamation of pads and synths before the vocal launches, taking this track to another level.

‘Blooming Era’ has destructive dancefloor intent. There is no holding back with the low end synth modulation which Enrico has mastered to perfection. A tightly woven percussive flare moulds flawlessly with the rolling oscillations of the beast of this track.

If you have seen label head honcho Adam Beyer playing anywhere on the globe in the last 5 months, this has been a peak time favourite. Road-tested to the max, and with much success.

It’s safe to say it’s been too long since we last saw label bosses and heavy hitters Pan-Pot grace Second State with their ‘Solace’ EP back in November of 2016. So to have them back with two big bombs and a remix from the one and only Petter B on their ‘Funke’ EP curbs all anticipation from all of us who have been dying for new material.
Kicking things off is ‘Spitzer’ with hi-octane percussion and reverb heavy acoustics spanned out over ten minutes where simplicity rules and the age old saying that “less is more” has never been more accurate. Flipping sides we see the duo take a similar approach on “Funke” but deliver a rugged and brutally mesmerizing lead that coaxes the inner devil inside all of us. Rounding out the EP is a carefully curated remix from Gothenburg’s own and former Hertz collaborator Petter B who hands over a beautiful rendition of ‘Spitzer’ where dense, lavish atmospherics carry a heavy looping groove to a gorgeous climax. It’s good to have the boys back and we think you will agree when you hear their stunning new ‘Funke’ EP.

‘Vertigo’ is the A side on this four track EP by Roberto Capuano that uses reverberated kick drum’s and piano chords to create a groove that was designed for peak-time play. The second track, ‘Inversion’ uses rising and filtering synths with the use of space and influxes of pitched hi hats and percussion loops to create a 5am track that will keep people rooted to their spot. ‘New Chapter’ uses a repetitive percussion-like stab to keep the deep atmospheric sounds together over the industrial techno drums.The final track ‘Earth’ uses phased sporadic stabs to create an interesting groove that compliments the driving drums that are ever present.
