Slam’s new three track single flawlessly encaptures the modern Drumcode sound. Movement trundles forward with snare rolls and funky percussion. The synth line keeps the funky groove rolling along until the snare roll break where it then crescendos effortlessly back into the track. The Realms synth line weaves in and out of the beat, filtering up and down to create intensity before unleashing itself into aural pleasure. Irrational Numbers takes an unusual rhythmic synth pattern and creates a groove that will make the dance floor shuffle.  Layered with pads, the track uses depth to create a distinctive character.

​Parisian DJ and producer DJ Deep has enlisted a cast of talented producers to remix four tracks from his ‘Cuts’ release series, featuring Ben Sims transforming ‘Stressin’ with a relentless techno motif.

Having launched the ‘Cuts’ release series on his Deeply Rooted imprint in 2014, DJ Deep now breathes new life into the material via a new remix pack titled ‘DJ Deep Cuts Remixes Vol.1’. Tapping Ben Sims to grace the release was a clear choice, as he’s been a driving force in the techno community for nearly two decades with releases on Drumcode, Karlovak and his own labels, Hardgroove and Theory Recordings.

‘Stressin (Ben Sims Remix)’ sees the UK producer inject energy into the otherwise stripped-back nature of the original, delivering an enveloping techno essence primed for peak moments on the dancefloor. Metallic synths compliment the mesmerizing and high-octane percussion as a rolling bass-line lays the foundation.

‘DJ Deep Cuts Remixes Vol.1’ is set for release in June and also features remixes by Mr. G, Roman Poncet and Steve Rachmad.

Following up on his label debut in march, Drumcomplex present his second EP on OFF Recordings.

'Atomic' kicks things off with an intense arpeggio lead, a driving 1/16th bassline and straight forward drums.

'High' is a more laidback track, perfect to build the set with.

'Dance' is another peaktime affair, an offbeat-centric bassline, catchy vocal and energetic synth hook make this a sure dancefloor pleaser.

'Future' closes the EP with another synth-heavy mainroom-bomb.

The EP starts with Mikael Jonasson’s, ‘Benefit of the Doubt’ which uses dark, melodic bleeps to create tension before the epic chord stabs kick in that resonate over the throbbing bass line. Adam Beyer steps up with the second track ‘Never Really Left Home’ that uses a rhythmic synth-line to create a dark and moody piece of music. Ida Engberg then delivers her unique style of techno using old rave sounds and a huge hoover style synth to create a driving techno track that will keep any dancefloor moving. The Manic Brother’s supply another big track named ‘Different Directions’ using reverberated stabs to create an atmospheric, but still functional track with lots of rhythmic percussion thrown in. Patrick Siech then steps up with the next track, ‘Kill Room’ that also uses atmospheric percussion and stabs to build into a funky drum groove. Joel Mull presents the sixth track on the compilation; ‘Rimson’ that uses hypnotic drums to captures the listener’s attention to lead into a floaty synth and vocal line before the track introduces a pulsating bass line. ‘Second Coming’ is the next offering with Petter B using recurrent percussion to full effect to create a purposeful, heavy hitting techno track. The final track by Cari Lekebusch called ‘Xylopeggiator’, conveys a dark, pounding 5 AM rhythm that uses vocal samples and a melodic synth to create a hypnotic drum pattern.

Adam Beyers unique vision of The Afterparty uses phased percussion, tripped out drums and an ethereal like pad and melody to create a stand out remix that blends together two unique ideas momentously. Ben Klock steps up to take on The Afterparty too with the sound ever so synonymous with him. He uses rhythmic stabs and an unusual melody that works so well within the atmospheric landscape he has created. Joseph Capriatis remix of Can you feel it is a funky techno track that uses stabs to really build a solid groove that will be a sure fire hit. The Sandwell District remix of I Feel it Deep uses the original vocal in an ambient journey with pads and percussion to tell a story. Alan Fitzpatrick yet again doesnt disappoint with his remix of Riots in London that uses delayed stabs and a rolling bass line to construct another dark peak time player. Jerome Sydenhams Carbon Dub of Smoke and Mirrors is heavily dynamic and uses a piano chord and the original vocal to create an energetic vibe. Cari Lekebusch remix of Bullet uses a phased underlying melody to really drive the track forward before the bleep melody is introduced later into the track. Jeromes Looking Glass Dub also of Smoke and Mirrors uses a throbbing bass line to power through the early hours of the morning with the use of the delayed vocal and rhythmic hi hats creating a funky techno groove.

In the same vein as her recently launched MOOD imprint, ‘Believe’ is suited to a number of atmospheres and settings. Across the nine original productions and one collaboration with label boss Adam Beyer, Nicole has crafted a sonically diverse long-player of sounds which draw on the plethora of styles electronic music has to offer. From her accustomed techno to twisted house and everything in-between, the stylistic variety on offer means cuts ‘Believe’ will easily feature in more intimate settings and big-room venues alike. ‘Believe’ features a host of tracks aimed squarely at the clubs. From the moody ‘Movin On’, the bass-heavy “Do Your Thing”, to the industrial techno grooves on “Come And Lay” and the hypnotic chanting vocal on “Get On It”, the techno-aficionados will not be disappointed with what is sublime set of cuts that will no doubt destroy any dance-floor. 
In contrast however, there are more intimate moments to be found. For example the rhythmically entrancing yet uplifting “Fly With You”, to “Liberum Spirita” with its mazy ethereal breakdown, and the synth-heavy percussive builder “Lumière Tamisée”. Nicole’s further flexes her production muscle with the stripped back dub-flavours of “Big Love With No Apology”, and a robotic groove-laden funk on the standout “Can I Get Some”.  “Believe” delivers a consummate body of work with which Nicole’s considerable abilities in the studio are clear for all to hear. A wide-range of sounds that is sure to appeal to the idiosyncratic tastes of the various sub-sections of electronic music community. Furthermore, it lives up to the high-standards of previous Drumcode long-players and is an engrossing and impressive debut; and one that offers a smooth segue into the next chapter of an already exciting career. 


Nicole Moudaber - Can I Get Some - Drumcode

The first glimpse of Joseph Capriati’s ‘Self Portrait’ is revealed, as Drumcode drop a double a-side single from the hugely anticipated second album by techno’s heir apparent. The tracks ‘Fratello’ and ‘Awake’, have been highlights of Capriati’s sets in recent months, punctuating performances at landmark gigs such as his main room closing set at the internationally respected Time Warp Festival in Germany and maiden coast-to-coast tour of the US.

‘Awake’ was born out of Joseph’s longstanding love affair with Holland’s famous Awakenings parties and is a homage to the fanatical fans who turn out en masse at each event. Tense, atmospheric and relentless, ‘Awake’ captures the feeling of a momentary release of energy that is such a part of the high-octane Awakenings experience.

‘Fratello’ has achieved anthem status since it debuted in Capriati’s sets last September, such is the reaction it has garnered from fans. A work of rare beauty, this is techno at its most emotive, as hypnotic melody is laced with intricate key patterns, while the Italian’s trademark shaking percussion propel the track forward.
