Dominik Eulberg & Gabriel Ananda - The Space Between Us (Original Mix)

Niconé, the versatile musician and likeable style-icon: unshaven and latently bleary-eyed, of course, but elegant and – thankfully – modest at the same time. Over the past years, Alexander Gerlach has become synonymous with a certain playful touch and light-hearted attitude that flows through his music and goes hand in hand with a laidback natural tenor. 2011 saw him release the hugely successful ‘Romantic Thrills’ album together with his good friend and constant partner in crime Sascha Breamer. Now, two years later, Niconé is presenting his first solo full-length, ‘Let Love Begin’, on Stil vor Talent. ‚Burnhain’ gives a taste of what’s to follow and is one of two 12“ EP accompanying the album. 

On the A-side, ‚Burnhain’, classic house sounds such as driving high-hats and 90s rave stabs offer a nod to the past, while hitting the zeitgeist. ‘Querido’, which features Sascha Braemer and the newly discovered vocal talent Yvy, initially drops the energy on the B-side before exploding with Mediterranean life, castanets included for good measure. ‘You Are My Best Meowfucker’ then pushes us back into the club as a techy rhythm and repeated vocal hook draw us to the floor. The track’s twist offers itself in the form of a string loop that lends an oriental edge. Spicy and addictive! Let love begin..

Off the back of the infectious original by London-based twosome Don Diablo and Matt Nash comes the official remix for summer smash ‘Starlight (Could You Be Mine)’ by Swedish dynamo Otto Knows.

Flicking the switch from energy-infused electro, Otto gives ‘Starlight’ a rapturous facelift that is both defiantly uplifting and joyous in its nature. The remix strips the original of its electro muscles replacing those with emphatic bassline swoops and a pumping four-to-the-floor drum stomp.

First nurtured under Swedish House Mafia delegate, Sebastian Ingrosso, Otto flash-banged many with his brilliant debut ‘Million Voices’, which toppled the Shazam chart and went straight on to the BBC Radio 1 playlist. In doing so, he grabbed the thoughts of a surge of new fans while sitting comfortably within the top 15 tracks in the UK singles chart, before eventually going gold in Australia, Belgium, Holland and his native Sweden. Meanwhile, Otto himself was named as a ‘Young Star’ by international tastemaker and Radio 1 DJ, Pete Tong.

With quality rather than quantity at the heart of his work ethic, late last year saw widely praised remixes of Dada Life (“Kick Out The Epic Motherfucker”) and Burns (“Lies) hit the airwaves. The busy festival period took him on jaunts right across Europe including slots at Tomorrowland, Creamfields, Electric Zoo and Ushuaia in Ibiza.

This remix is set to push Otto Knows even further into the consciousness of mainstream listeners while interest is still hot and at a time when electronic music is at its most potent.

Mutual Respekt 116 with Madutec

Alan’s new single on Drumcode demonstrates exactly why Alan Fitzpatrick is a powerhouse within the techno scene. ‘The Tetra’ will enrapture the dance floor from the off with it’s brooding nature and syncopated claps. It pushes forwards with glistening highs before more melodic stabs join the equation and slowly the beautiful melodic phrase partakes in this outstanding piece of work. ‘We Are Forever Young’ finishes off the single with a slow burning after hour’s vibe that will keep the clubbers nodding. The third and final track ‘1992’ takes us back and has a tougher more energetic feel to it. With crunchy drums, a melodic synth and a catchy vocal hook this record is another Alan Fitzpatrick masterpiece.

Due to the great feedback we decided to put them on a 12-inch accompanying the Âme Live CD. Karl Hyde and James Lavelle on one 12-inch should be something for a lad's paradise and even 'Enoi' sounds brighter than before.
