Heading straight for the fast lane is Josh Gigante with „Attention Seeker“. A hypnotic one-note bassline with ritualistic vocals takes you onto a night ride on the highway, until the overdrive kicks in and a sudden chainsaw-sounding lead is giving off sparks.

„Tanzwerk“ by Jepe takes you to a sinister sounding technocratic utopia, where suddenly all the sounds of machine processes align and form a dance floor symphony.

Next on the 21st Four To The Floor is „Folk“ by AIKON, an upbeat affair with slight hints of 80s, New Wave and Acid.

And closing off is „Music is the way“ by Spada feat. Klara Sestiniova, a dreamy end-of-night soundtrack that will definitely provide for a hands-up and eyes-closed moments.

2017 was quite the year for Jannowitz Records. Alex Stein, Andre Gazolla, Diatonik, Eudi, Flow & Zeo, FractaLL & Rocksted, Kaiser Souzai, Khainz, SUDO, Touchtalk - just to name a few of all the international leading artists that released music on the Cologne based imprint during the last year.

And right next to those big names BOHO, the DJ duo founded by JAW label bosses Lars Kohl and Matthias Seibert, arose. In 2017 their journey started. They released their first EP, remixed various tracks and played in their hometown as well as on Ibiza and in India. And while BOHO's journey has just begun, another artist had his first career peak last year. Maksim Dark produced a whole lot of tracks. Among them are remixes for techno legends like Dubfire (published on SCI-TEC) and Oliver Huntemann (Senso). But Maksim Dark still took the time to collaborate with BOHO for their second and darkest EP, yet. "Octopussy“ combines BOHO's and Maksim's ways of producing throbbing, driving techno with a vocal that will take you straight to hell. It proves that BOHO - although only few months in the business - is already at an level that can compete with any other genre-producer.

Three remixes round off "Octopussy EP“ and make it one of Jannowitz' most diverse releases to date. Stefan Biniak has played almost all the clubs of Germany's capital (and actually also in the whole world). He kept the essence of "Octopussy“, added his own flair and a 2017 - typical synthesizer-melody that will fit every dance floor you encounter. „Refused“ label boss Justin James already added tracks on "Minus“ and "SCI-TEC“ to his catalogue. His first Jannowitz remix turns "Octopussy“ to a dark and hypnotic alien track that will cast its spell over you and will be stuck in your head forever.

Acumen (owner of the label "Time Has Changed“ who published for example on Sasha's "Last Night On Earth" serves probably the most surprising interpretation of Boho's and Maksim Dark's track. It's more chill, more laid back, even groovier but at the same time true to the Original Mix. You will know that it is "Octopussy“ although it's a totally different version.

Four mixes of "Octopussy“ in one EP. But wait. An octopus usually has eight arms, right? That's why there will be even more Octopus remixes coming to you some time in 2018. Wait for it - the Octopus is going to grow.

France’s globetrotting techno DJ/producer Julian Jeweil set to release debut artist album Transmission via Adam Beyer’s illustrious Drumcode Records on 7 January 2019. 

Over the past decade, Julian Jeweil has risen to become one of one of electronic music’s most respected artists and synonymous with cutting-edge melodic techno. Throughout his career, the Marseille-based artist has garnered numerous accolades and achievements including releasing on esteemed imprints such as Cocoon, M-nus and Plus 8, being Beatport’s #1 top selling techno artist (2015), remixing the likes of Moby, Deadmau5, Dubfire & Oliver Huntemann and Pan-Pot and performing at some of the world’s best clubs/events such as Fabric (UK), Womb (JP), D-Edge (BR), Drumcode OFF Week 2018 (ES), Drumcode Festival (NL), BPM Festival (PT) and Resistance (MX). 




With the accumulation of all of this success and experience, the time has now come for the talented Frenchman to continue his burgeoning relationship with Drumcode by following on from his well-received debut ‘Rolling’ EP (2017) and ‘Space’ EP (2017) with his much-awaited debut long-player, Transmission – comprising of 11 stellar tracks inspired by Jeweil’s ambition to produce an album for the dancefloor that would fully represent him without setting any limitations or boundaries.

The alluring space-themed LP commences with the exquisite synth-laden beatless composition ‘Intro’ which is closely followed by one of the album’s darker standout moments, the stomping peak-time title track ‘Transmission’. Elsewhere, there’s further dancefloor weaponry such as the pulsating synth-driven roller ‘Mars’, the edgy groove-based ‘Hyoid’ and the trippy acid-tinged ‘Turbulence’.

Other highlights include, ‘Planet X’ which showcases Jeweil’s mastery of atmosphere, serving as an ambient downbeat interlude when placed between the pounding Berghain-esque workouts such as ‘Internal’ and ‘Futura’. The album continues into its final triptych with ‘Astral’ and ‘Dorsal, 2 powerful bass heavy masterpieces, concluding with the aptly named emotional soundscape ‘Final’ to round off a superb debut long-player that’s well worth the wait.
