2017’s first Drumcode release comes in the form of chart topping regular Julian Jeweil, who’ll be putting out his first solo effort on the label. Jeweil’s ‘Rolling EP’ showcases his skill as a producer and kicks off with the emphatic title track ‘Rolling’. The perfect soundtrack for the early hours in the club, this sweaty affair proves just why he’s at the top of the game right now. ‘Venice’ and ‘Blue’ illustrate his signature sound to a tee, with the EP’s final track ‘Traffic’ an acid-tinged behemoth, guaranteed to light up any set.

Timmo follows up his debut Drumcode release ‘We Beat On’ with a brand new 4-tracker packed to the rafters with his own unique blend of techno. His productions are getting plays from the likes of Adam Beyer, Joseph Capriati and Richie Hawtin amongst others; 2017 is set to be his biggest year yet. 

Timmo’s unique sound has captured the eyes and ears of many highly revered techno DJs around the world and his ‘System’ release is a stark reminder of exactly why this is. ‘Intensify’ is a big room record that is set to do some real damage on dance floors worldwide. This peak time tool thumps through 7 minutes of power, dragging you in and throwing you out the other side as the track rolls on. 
‘The Maze’ is an example of his excellent production, with his use of synths on a level that some producers take years to hone. ‘System’ is a haunting track, authentic four-to-the-floor techno that screams in to top gear right from the off. The release closes with the more groove and bass line laden ‘Together’. One of those tracks that is guaranteed to get stuck in your head…

Ramiro Lopez drops the electrifying follow up to his ‘Pretending’ EP from May this year. 

For almost a decade, Spain’s Ramiro Lopez has established himself as one his country’s leading proponents of techno, with strong releases across labels that include Suara, Intec, Octopus Recordings and Bedrock. He first debuted on Drumcode in 2016 with the rousing collaborative track ‘Clap Your Hands’ that ranked among one of the label’s standout tracks for the year. With one Drumcode release already under his belt in 2017 and a new label project Odd Recordings with fellow DC cohort Arjun Vagale recently launched, he’s enjoying another strong year.

His return to the label comes in the form of ‘Being Alone’, a powerful trio of cuts, all of which featured in Adam Beyer’s Awakenings Festival Day 1 performance. The title track is a multi-layered weapon, propelled by a dizzying vocal, swirling synth effects and pin-sharp percussion that build toward a smooth classy finish. ‘Dark Science’ is an effective stomper brought to life by a bell chime hookline and undulating synth melody ensuring its peak-time prowess. ‘Der Raum’ rounds out the EP, highlighted by Lopez’s deft drum work, proceeded by a driving, euphoric climax.

Slovenian producer UMEK returns to Tronic with his new, killer 2 track EP, Certain Trace. Straight out the gate, some serious no-nonsense techno comes in the form of Deja Vu. It has a thundering kick, haunting synth stabs and a piercing percussive fusion. It has a warped synthetic stab which punches throughout the track and gives some serious authority.

The title track Certain Trace has a mind-melting hook combination, driving listeners into the depths of the mix. It grows in complexity as the track progresses with a catchy elevating style rhythm.

It doesn’t get much bigger than this: Adam Beyer links up with Green Velvet and Drumcode’s outstanding rising star Layton Giordani for a debut collaboration.

Some musical partnerships feel fated. Both fans of one another’s work, for years Adam Beyer and Green Velvet had discussed writing music together. In turn, Beyer’s protégé Layton Giordani had admired the Chicagoan’s work for as long as he could remember. When the 25-year-old found himself playing alongside the green mohawked legend at Belfast’s Shine, the spark and subsequent friendship was immediate. With the links now set in place, it was only a matter of time before the trio’s creative chemistry would manifest musically. 

‘Space Date’ was conceived organically and birthed quickly. Propelled by Green Velvet’s trademark vocal hypnotism, the triumvirate combine to craft a pumping intergalactic slice of techno laced in melody that’s highlighted sets by Beyer at Awakenings, Ushuaia and also EDC Vegas when Green Velvet dropped it to a raucous response. The track is complimented by ‘Rome Future’, the product of a year-long series of productions between Beyer and Giordani. Deftly combining crisp drum work, catchy vocal effects and a powerful bassline melody that gives the track an almighty kick, it will be familiar to many who’ve followed their sets over recent months.

We Are The Brave stormed onto the scene in 2016, and has since released some truly epic dancefloor bangers from both the established and fresh faced talents the industry has to offer. Alan featuring some of his biggest tracks on the label, as well as inviting Reset Robot, Gary Beck, Skream, Darius Syrossian, and Sasha to be a part of their ever-growing family. 2019 is set to be the biggest year yet, with Alan Fitzpatrick’s Day just around the corner and more planned label showcases than ever before.

‘Poison’ was a vocal smash hit last year from Croydons finest – Skream. He’s teamed up with a UK duo who are already regulars on his imprint, as well as Dense & Pika’s Kneaded Pains – Melody’s Enemy.

‘This Is It’ the lead track, has a story. On a flight to play a festival in Germany, the guys decided on a concept to record Ollie, get a recording that showed a slice of who he really is, what he's all about. “We did wonder if he'd go for it actually, and we sprung it on him unawares on the day he came to our studio - but true to form, he was up for it in an instant!” adds Melody’s Enemy.

A full-on futuristic acid hook, with a driving energetic bassline sitting alongside Ollie’s spoken words which weave in and out between the synth and groove. This is MEGA!

Given the title, ‘5am’ is a bit more of a straight up banger, with its low end kicks and tight punctuation, pads glide through the track along the main rave inspired synth. “Ollie sent us a hook and parts from something he'd been working on. And we went to town on it. The motive here was maximum dance damage’.
