Drumcode’s beloved A-Sides compilation makes a return after a two-year absence, with a mammoth 25-track feast covering every shade of the techno spectrum. The project was devised in 2012 as a way of showcasing the wealth of strong material Adam Beyer receives each year, which due to Drumcode’s busy release schedule, might not otherwise find a home on the label. Since then, it’s grown to become an essential fixture on the techno release schedule and a marker for where the genre stands in any given year.

 With 2019 only just getting started, Tronic is already storming out of the gates strong. Kicking things off with a friend of the family LAAT. No stranger to Tronic, this rising Dutch producer is bringing the heat with the Mask Yourself EP. A constellation of thundering filthy beats and a melodic frenzy to drive every dark sweaty club into a hypnotic affair. A1 delivering Mask Yourself, a thunderous low end combined with a haunting vocal, hammered by Christian Smith already. A2's State Of Play is pushing the envelope with its pulsating bass and mysterious melody driving that pressure cooker culminating into an explosive release. With Cloudrunner feeling like a high energy pursuit and on closing duties a stripped down version of Mask Yourself, for the techno purist, this release has something for everyone.

Hailing from Amsterdam, making his debut on 100% Pure is LAAT with his Fight The Real EP. Two corkers that have been a staple in 2000 and One’s sets for the last couple of weeks…albeit in livestreams.

On the A-side we find namesake Fight The Real, a vocal techno stomper with raw, brooding vocals that resonate in these quarantine times now more than ever. Combing this with meticulously programmed synth lines and a no holds barred breakdown, this one got all the ingredients to deliver the goods. On the flip side we find Vortexchaser. An epic journey through melancholic synths and pulsating stabs, combined with a thunderous low end, transporting you straight into sci-fi territory.

Both tracks receive 100% Pure’s seal of approval and are definitely not to be missed for all techno connoisseurs.
