Rewind back to 2015, and this was the year that Alex Mine actually produced the original track ‘Lost’, a track which remained homeless yet waiting to be unleashed on the right label. It wasn't until he bumped into Monika Kruse whilst in Barcelona for Sonar, where she signed it after the first listen to her beloved Terminal M imprint.

Initial feedback was outstanding, but it really all started to happen when Carl Cox said he loved it, and wanted to do a remix, alongside fellow Italian producer Roberto Capuano. Carl drops a funky, chunky groove rework with tech house vibes, whilst Roberto throws in his techno cut. A hypnotic combination of synthetic movements, vocals and acid rhythms.

Spektre (Drumcode / Respekt), one of Britain’s hottest techno duos, attacks the techno World with an unprecedented single!

“Without Warning” is Spektre’s case study on today’s Techno. Uncommon, speedy, dark and above all, trippy, it is a track that rewrites the rules on how a proper track should be.

Melancholic and dark, but precise and crisp at the same time -a typical Spektre characterstic- “Without Warning” is composed upon the concept of making a difference. Huge bass pads bring out melodies that move and travel the audience while on the same time spacey strings and groovy drum patterns generate the antithesis that makes the energy circulate in this excellent track’s veins.

Thomas Schumacher’s (Drumcode / Noir) approach is manifested upon pure energy. 
Advanced engineering and authentic inspiration meet, to create a perfectly blended dark-as-the-gates-of-the-underworld killer groove and fresh rhythmical elements, all mixed along to forge a track destined to stir bedrocks and definitely question their structural rigidity!

D-Deck (Alleanza / Phobiq) inserts his life experience in music-making into his remix and totally transforms the track, generating a new existence. This is a 4 AM track, definitely made to move large crowds. Rigorous and stern, yet driving and melodic, it’s based on a solid drum pattern that concludes to an epic buildup where all melodic elements join the harmony and add their own perspective to end-up in a huge drop.

Wehbba collaborates with ghetto tech legend DJ Deeon, to deliver another superlative EP on Drumcode.

Since his debut on Drumcode in 2017, Brazil’s Wehbba has become one of the most dependable and impressive artists on the roster. Last year saw two standout EP’s ‘Eclipse’ and ‘Catarse’ drop on the imprint, alongside ‘Just’, his strong contribution to A-Sides Vol.7. He also made his mark playing Drumcode events at OFF Week, Resistance Ibiza and the much talked about double header in Manchester and Bristol when DC took over Warehouse Project and Motion respectively.

A true master craftsman in the studio, his first contribution for 2019 is typically impressive. A huge inspiration to Wehbba since his nascent raver days, ghetto tech icon DJ Deeon contributes a fierce vocal to ‘We Have Bass’, after a serendipitous hook up in São Paulo. A peak career moment collaborating with one of his original heroes and the artist responsible for the classic ‘Freak Like Me’, the resulting percussive-heavy cut kicks like a rodeo bull. ‘Third Wave’ is coffee geek Wehbba’s homage to his favourite brew, constructing the production to mirror the experience of a caffeine fix, as a loopy trance-inducing groove leads to powerful synth stabs that are heavy on impact. ‘Steamroller’ is a stripped back slice of techno driven by the Brazilian’s Korg MS-20 and found form after it initially begun as a studio jam inspired by Richie Hawtin’s ‘Minus Orange’. 

A Jean-Michel Jarre fan stretching back to his childhood, ‘Another Mistake’ was conceived after Wehbba saw the French legend in concert last year and was subsequently able to meet him backstage through a mutual friend. While creating the track, the producer imagined Jarre playing the main layers of the hook on his famous Laser-harp, eliciting an almost celestial quality with the melody. This is a stirring slice of techno fit for stadiums. The EP ends with ‘Purge’, the artist’s stream-of-consciousness expression recorded in one-take and a beautiful beat-less way to conclude the work.

Christian Smith teamed up with Drunken Kong to deliver a storming three track EP. 'Why Are We Here?' is a driving peak time track with an infectious vocal sample and a Laurent Garnier inspired synth line. 'XS' is slightly more serious and has a darker vibe. 'Hikari' finishes off this EP with a more musical and warm analog vibe.

Alan Fitzpatrick keeps moving from strength to strength with his ‘We Are The Brave’ imprint. Following on from their successful summer, the label get back to their underground roots as we enter the club season. Next up we’ve got two deep, ominous rollers from Portsmouth lad ‘A.S.H’. 

Acid tinged 'Kiss' sets the deep moody tone for the record, where colossal kick drums ride along with a delicate, yet impressive array of synths and arpeggios drift over the top. 'Kiss' is remarkably dreamy at the same time as being immersive and full-bodied, the lead synth rips through the speakers and the drops bring the sensations needed for the club.

'Reactor' sets off similarly, but soon breaks off into a bright arpeggiated lead synth line that reverberates through the track right up to the drop. 'Reactor' is then interrupted by a fierce and brooding synth lead! Big drums take control of your feet while the synths take your ears for a ride and the result is a beautifully hard, melodic techno wonder!

A.S.H - Reactor

The first part of Pig&Dan’s ‘Tunnel Vision’ EP lands in transcendent style. 

Since their debut on Drumcode in 2016 with ‘Mexico’, Pig&Dan have firmly established themselves as one of the label’s most vital acts. They’ve dropped four memorable EPs, including a standout four-tracker with Adam Beyer ‘Capsule’, all of which reinforced their uncompromising production standards.

‘Tunnel Vision I’ is this accomplished talent in full bloom and the first of a two-part EP series that will hit across March and April, 2020. Rather than release an album and potentially explore less dancefloor-orientated tangents, the pair opted to present eight tracks the represent their high-impact, euphoric take on techno. The cuts have done damage at events such as Warehouse Project, Drumcode Halloween and Dockyard Festival.

‘Slave to the Rhythm’ hits like a hypnotic steam train, led by crisp drumlines before a massive synth lead comes into view complemented by a muscular bassline. Trippy synths and a propulsive groove give ‘Tunnel Vision’ its bite. ‘Fracture’ marches forward with plenty of low-end technoid swagger, before a synapse-tickling riff delivers a peak-time hit. ‘Traces’ brings proceedings back to earth, creating an evocative technoscape fit for welcoming the dawn.
