Arriving on Radio Slave’s vital Rekids imprint following 2020’s ‘Freedom of Fear EP’ on Rekids Special Projects, British duo KUSP deliver the captivating ‘Folding’, featuring vocals from Pablo:Rita and remixes from label boss Radio Slave and electronic music luminary Roman Flügel. A deviation from the duo’s upfront techno records, which have been supported by likes of Luke Slater, Regal, Truncate, and more, KUSP have crafted an emotive breakbeat jam featuring vocals from London-based duo Pablo:Rita.

“Folding is something a little bit different from the usual techno records we put out, it’s melodic, uplifting and deviates away from the normal 4/4 beat we’ve been known for in the past. It’s a track we’ve kept under wraps for quite a while now but we’re over the moon to finally unleash it on Rekids. - KUSP

Following the A1 is the ‘After Dark’ mix, which sees the duo head to heavier territories, stripping away the vocals and going for the jugular with crisp, pounding drums under the original’s melodic touch. On the flip, Roman Flügel brings his years of clubland experience to the table, introducing a wonky electro-esque pattern, arpeggiated synth lines, before an ecstatic breakdown takes hold. For the final version, Radio Slave returns to his use of breaks and delicate atmospherics with his evocative, early-rave referencing ‘New Age Of Love’ remix.

When Pig&Dan decided to join forces, they began a truly prolific production schedule establishing their reputation as producers of pulsating electronic music that straddled dark house and high-energy techno, whilst creating their signature style of twisted and experimental breakdowns. Since those early days, they have created a repertoire that not many can match and have constantly been releasing their music on the most respected labels and playing at the best events worldwide.

Pig&Dan follow up to their outstanding first EP on Drumcode with ‘Chemistry’. Compromising of three tracks the mood fluctuates with each record to create a well-balanced, dynamic EP. Chemistry is a dreamy listening platform that mixes cyclic synth lines and stabs to crescendo into a late night imagination. The other two tracks are on the harder tip with their thunderous kick drums and disorientated sounds that provide a different edge to the EP with a harder, peak time sound.

Weska is back with a Third Wave and it’s a monster comprised of three original cuts.

After years building a career and getting music signed to everyone from Drumcode, Suara and Tronic, travelling the globe with gigs in Australia, Canada and all over Europe, and appearing as part of the mighty Drumcode showcases, it’s safe to say Weska is right on the cusp of his career. 

‘Timespan’ is a darkly melodic bruiser for the late-night industrial crowds. Rolling bass and sizzling hats ride the rhythm as saw-toothed dystopian synths create atmosphere and intrigue. Spoken word vocals and a melodic key line add spice midway, then its heads down and stomp until dawn.
