Vril is still a relatively little known artist but already he has some great accolades to his name: He has released a couple of great EPs on Giegling sub label Staub, had a track on Marcel Fengler's Berghain mix, Dettmann's Conducted and now appears with the 103rd release on Delsin. What he serves up is three titanic techno tracks designed with maximum dancefloor damage in mind.

So big are these productions that we got a message back from that well known mastering company in germany. For some mystified causes some of our expensive equipment was crashing during the mastering session (!). They’ve been mastering records since over 20 years and that has never happened before like this.

The Vortekz EP starts with the title track and it's a dramatic bit of big room techno with nerve gangling chords and plenty of sonic grit. The dub version is slower and more purposeful and is buried in a much wider, deeper groove that snakes more than stomps. Finally comes 'y7/10', which rocks back and forth in the same rusted loop as percussion flutters like tin foil in a stormy wind. The track flows an ever-higher arc of tension that eventually erupts into a sea of analogue fuzz and hiccupping techno beats.

Hot off his latest releases on DSNT (backed by a massive remix from Truss and Tessela) and Hypercolour, JoeFarr comes back home to Turbo with the latest installment in the Warehouse Series.

Lead track IDOMTYK (I don’t only make techno you know) is the mission statement here, a molten crucible built from shards of warehouse excitement. The EP as a whole bangs and bruises with massive kicks, crushing snares and glistening, razor sharp hats, but despite the abrasive percussion, melodies shine through, vocal hooks penetrate, and the atmosphere lifts far beyond the grinding monotony that maligns warehouse techno as an experience. 

Experimentation and originality sparks throughout this release. Talent, ladies and gentlemen…

Adam Beyer’s new EP titled ‘Teach Me’ is an accomplished piece of work that highlights Beyer's year thus far. 'Teach Me' starts with some eerie chords before the distinctive vocal kick in and the track drops into a rumbling techno track. ‘Darlek’ uses rhythmic beeps and huge synth stab to create a funky rhythm before the atmospheric pads create a beautiful setting for this incredible techno track. ‘Stop Talking’ is a deeper offering from Beyer using weird and unusual noises to create and interesting piece of work that is helped along by the throbbing bass underlying in the track. ‘Spaceman’ uses a rhythmic vocal, percussion and sub bass to turn this track into a funky techno piece.

We here at Second State are thrilled to bring you our new concept entitled HUB. While most labels these days are doing various artists releases to showcase the overall talent on their label, we thought it would be better suited for both our listeners and ourselves to break the mold and bring you a series of true collaborations. Each HUB release will feature a single artist teaming up with others from the Second State family to create an EP of authentic musical compromises. A place where multiple minds find a harmony somewhere outside their own identity and each collaboration conceives a genuinely unique artifact. "Tension' is a heavy number with just a few key elements, it's a slow lurking journey through a dark forest at night. As each bush and branch is pushed aside and every step inches closer to a destination unknown, the pressure builds. Soon, without knowing, you are in the depths of a jungle with no way back and only one decision. Keep going.

Following acclaimed excursions on Hypercolour (‘Needs You EP’) and Will Saul’s Aus Music (‘Child EP’) last year, George FitzGerald is preparing to make his return to his Hotflush home for the first time since 2011. Premiering in FitzGerald’s debut Radio 1 Essential Mix last month as part of the ‘2013’s Future Stars’ series, ‘Thinking Of You’ is scheduled to drop as a Beaport exclusive on 18th March, with full physical release and accompanying tracks to follow in May.
 
Having displayed his innate understanding of how to craft a musical narrative with the Essential Mix, ‘Thinking Of You’ turns to the darker realms of the dance floor imbued with the same kind of precision-tooled grooves, nuanced melodic touch and emotive shades that have garnered him such praise in the past.
 
The last twelve months have been extremely busy for FitzGerald as he continues to capture the attention of industry heads and fans alike with his refined and emotive homegrown club music.
