John Digweeds Bedrock label kicks off 2012 with yet another superb release from one of the standout electronic artists in the world today. Guy J is at the forefront of a movement towards the melody-rich and emotionally charged roots of the house music spectrum. Hes a young, innovative producer, DJ and live act, whose infectious production talents resulted in his amazing 3CD artist album (1000 Words) being acclaimed as one of the musical highlights of 2011. Now, three of the albums standout tracks have been remixed alongside a brand new track, to form the hottest package you could hope for to start the year in style.

Shining showcases the extraordinary talents of Guy J, from its beautifully subtle melodic intro, through a blossoming, journey-like arrangement with a highly emotive core, this is a masterful brand new track.

On 1000 Words as the mood moves towards deep, throbbing intensity, with lights down low, My Thought Of You turns up the energy levels and gets a little twisted, as Guy J pushes emotion buttons, exploring the psyche of the dance, exploring possibilities, forging ahead into the future. Which is a perfect starting point for Octopus label boss and Bedrock artist, Sian, to begin his audio experimentation on remix duty.

When you have interests ranging from cosmology and marine biology, to the social impact of the rave generation, you tend to make unusual art and Sian stands out as a little more bohemian than the average electronic talent. Adhering more to the avant-garde side of club culture, his tracks develop an otherworldly, and hypnotic slant on techno. His reworking of My Thought Of You is yet another exceptional example of creative genius at work.

The gorgeous, heavenly vocals of Miriam Vaga feature on 3 tracks on 1000 Words with Fly providing a stunning finale to CD1, an amazing collection of the more eclectic and experimental side of Guy Js music. The original version can only be described as a listening experience that has been heaven sent, so there was only one possible choice to remix such beauty.

Since they first burst onto the scene with the now classic album Wide Angle in 1999, Hybrid have been known as one of the most forward thinking and technically skilled acts in electronic dance music. Before hotfooting it over to Hollywood to work on the soundtrack for the new Terminator movie, they have made time to work their magic on Fly, and remixes dont come much bigger than this!

The heavenly atmospherics of Detroit techno bring 1000 Words to a close with the moody magnificence of Azimuth, which has been boldly taken into a new dimension by Bedrock remix competition winner, Kassey Voorn, from Athens, Greece.

German DJ and producer Lexer is back with a melodic house & techno single 'Ombak'. From the start, 'Ombak' features a bass-heavy drum line. As the track progresses the listener is introduced to the main melody and one shot synths. Undoubtedly, Lexer created a track that will get every person in a club, party, or festival grooving. The Arabesque melodic one-shots add another level of energy to the track. 'Ombak' will resonate with any house and techno aficionado. Following the internationally celebrated release of their debut album The Signs Within in 2017, burgeoning Japanese techno duo Drunken Kong look to kick off a brand new decade in emphatic fashion, with the release of their eagerly-anticipated sophomore long player, Where We Start.

Out now via Christian Smith's esteemed Tronic Music imprint, Where We Start marks the second full-length opus from the Tokyo-based outfit, whose impressive catalogue of unique techno productions have also been homed by the likes of Terminal M, Octopus Recordings, Stil Vor Talent and Session Womb to name a few.

Featuring a total of sixteen diverse cuts, including thirteen brand new Drunken Kong originals, two recent collaborations with Mainz-based outfit Teenage Mutants and one exclusive new collab with Tronic head honcho Christian Smith, Where We Start is Drunken Kong's most extensive body of work to date, and goes a long way in showcasing the inexhaustible creativity of one of the most prolific double acts in techno right now. DRUNKEN KONG is the project of D. Singh and DJ Kyoko. In 2010, the two started their project when one day, they
suddenly decided to make a track together. Since then they have released two albums on Christian Smith's label Tronic, The Signs Within (2017) and Where We Start (2020) as well as numerous EPs and singles on labels such as Octopus Recordings, Stil Vor Talent and
Terminal M while they remain active with domestic labels such as Session WOMB. All 7 tracks of their EPs in early 2017 on Tronic and Terminal M have entered Beatport Top 100 Techno chart at the same time, which has made an impact on the Asian and global techno scene. 

Since then, their music has been constantly entering top charts. Their music is gaining a lot of attention/support from
international top artists and DJs such as Carl Cox, Adam Beyer, Christian Smith, Monika Kruse, Pan-Pot, Umek, Hernan Cattaneo and Deadmau5, just to name a few. Their release “Repeat” from Octopus Recordings have entered Beatport Techno Top 10, being supported and played by many artists around the globe.

DRUNKEN KONG has always been active in the Tokyo techno scene, playing regularly at major festivals such as Ultra Japan and in clubs such as WOMB, Ageha, Unit, Vent, Contact and Vision Tokyo. The two are constantly attracting new fans with their unique sound and groove. With their powerful DJ style and charisma, the two are able to constantly amuse the audience while expanding their ideas and skills to the next level.
