The rising mega talent, multi-instrumentalist, striking bandleader and *actually* ambidextrous musician and producer returns to deliver Ley Lines – a true showcase of her talents. From the horns, to the choir, to the drums, to the rest, everything was written, produced, laid down and mixed by Emma-Jean.

“I wanted to step away from my work as a band leader and do something self-contained. I love improvising in the moment with a band, but wanted to take the chance to create at my own pace and be true to my own vision,” she says.

As a producer and musician, Emma-Jean’s work defies genre boundaries yet still holds deep roots in jazz. As well as being tipped “one of the UK’s most exciting new jazz artists” by Red Bull Music Academy, the one-woman-band production style of Ley Lines has been compared to Stones-Throw heavyweight Madlib.

Just as at home working with the London Symphony Orchestra as she is tearing it down at Total Refreshment Centre, Ley Lines follows Emma-Jean’s acclaimed Walrus EP and maintains her trajectory as one of the most talented young musicians in the business.

And finally we find Adam Port on B2, pursuing his knack for lost African treasures. Once again he finds the source material in an old traditional by Quim Manuel O Espirito Santo. Port's edit of "Eme Lelu" seeks to update the original in some of the rhythmic patterns and create a whole new dramaturgic, floor tweaked build up, yet he leaves the original's cheer- and playful nature untouched. Cheers to Analog Africa for providing the original composition.

After more than a decade at the forefront ofundergroundelectronicmusic,Re.Youputsall his vast experience into a long-awaited debut album on Connected, breathingnewlifeinto house music. ‘Maison’ is a bold artistic statement across nine tracks featuring guestsand label bosses Stereo MCs, plus Florian Busse & Ahmad, Elli and Oluhle & Aaaron.

German artist Re.You is Marius Maier, a producer who runs hisownYounionlabelandcontinues to innovate with his edgy house and tech fuelled productions. AswellasonreleasingConnected, he has seenhismusicissuedonMoonHarbour,KompaktandMobileeandmanagestotranscend fashions and scenes with his unique sound. After many years in Berlin, he moved to Paris, and found himself full of new ideas, inspired by the city and its creative energy.

As such, most of this new album was written in the French capital. He was there for just six months but as Marius says ​"it was a truly inspiring place and time, so I thought I would give the

album a French name. 'Maison' means home. That’s what I feel now I'm back in my German hometown Ulm after 10 years of Berlin and a short stay in Paris. I feel now is a good time to release my debut album on Connected, a platform on which I always felt at home."

Things get off to a dramatic start with the lurching bass and broken kicks of 'When I'm Lost' featuring the emotive vocals of Elli. It sets a serious mood that continues on 'We Want To Go',a sparse andexpansivetrackwithfoundsounds,creepingchordsandasenseoflate-nightmenace. 'Relocate' feat.StereoMc’sisanotherbrokenbeatthatcouldcomefromthestreetsofLondonand is complete with spoken word vocals, then 'Freedom' offers a high-speed house cut with cosmic arps and driving claps.

The excellent 'In The Dark' switches up the vibe again, this time with unbalanced bass and crisp percussion taking you deep into the night, while 'Inyani' feat. Oluhle & Aaaron gets you in an afro-tinged trance thanks to the vocal chants and suspensory, spiritual chords that cast a real spell. 'Soft'rollsbeautifullydeepwithdistantbirdsounds,then'IfYou'feat.Ellipicksupwithaslick and slippery tech groove full of mystery and intrigue and the journey is complete with the emotionally stirring trap style house of 'Strings Of Joy' feat. Florian Busse & Ahmad.

Maison is an adventurous culmination of many years of artistic endeavour that brings plenty of fresh and exciting new perspectives to house music.

Jimena Angel's seasoned experience as a vocalist, guitarist, DJ and producer brings depth to the fresh, new sound of her upcoming single, Llamameya, arriving September 11th. Showcasing the cultural hybridization of afro-latino rhythms characterized by Caribbean music, this tropical, electric and festive single launches the Colombian artist's upcoming EP release with French label, Elis Records, in October.

After a 25 year career as a pop rock singer including a Latin Grammy nomination in 2009, Jimena Angel decided to take a pause from her big city life in Bogota for a life in the mountains of the Magdalena province, on the Caribbean coast. The slow pace and luxuriant natural surroundings renewed her creativity and inspired a repertoire of music including her new single, Llamameya. Recorded during the lockdown between Colombia, Lisboa, Berlin and Utrecht, Jimena called on the talented Berlin-based saxophonist and producer Ben Abarbanel-Wolff, to bring his energetic brass sound to this new track. He previously produced albums by Ebo Taylor including the remarkable “Love and Death” and Pat Thomas, wrote horns and produced a few songs on 'Philanthropiques' by Guts. This collaboration was orchestrated under the artistic direction and electronic touch of French producer, iZem.

As a singer on Sidestepper’s 2003 hit 'Mas Papaya' Jimena already showcased her experimentation and ease with a wide range of music from electro to tropical folklore. She highlighted this range on her solo album 'Todo Reverdece' (2014), in the singles 'Ciruela' (2018) and 'Mani' (2019), as well as in collaborations reggae dub with producer Brain Damage on 'Ya No Más' (2018). Two decades after making her debut, Jimena Angel promises to further deepen the aesthetic exploration of an already rich and melodic musical palette with the EP 'Aire', scheduled to launch in October.

UFO Sound continues to establish itself with another vital new EP that this time comes from Peredel @peredel-11 . The UFO Sound label co-owner and host of UFO radioshow on Ibiza Global Radio, steps forward for his first solo EP. His previous releases in collaboration with Legroni & Tom Zeta have had massive support from many key artists on the scene. 
Whisper is first up and is a nice sparse techno roller with female vocals that are deeply alluring. Lead synths eventually come in to trip you out. Playing On Electricity is a melodic tech track with dancing chords that are pixelated and as the title suggests, electric. Underwater is a more deep rooted tune that wallows in the shadows, with lush pads and angelic chords eventually adding colour. Mermaid is more upbeat with a snapping percussive line and busy synths that wander about the mix. Runo closes out with another slick groove and slapping hits that will get you on your toes. 
This, then, is a fantastic EP once more from UFO Sound.
