The Baritone is a crossover duo composed by two opera singers. The Baritone started on august of 2011 and covers a wide repertoire from Hollywood classical oldies, songs from musical movies and Broadway highlights.

On live performances, The Baritone recreates the originals stages and sprit of each piece offering to the public a complete theater experience, including multimedia and great backtracks.

Hermetic Recordings is an Australian Independent record label, created with the intention of presenting a public forum for recordings created by sonic polymath, Michael Conolan. The original vision of Hermetic Recordings has expanded considerably to include Melbourne-based musicians of a similar vein, and soon we hope to release a line of unique music embracing the eternal concepts of: space, acoustics, tone, silence and time.

Some things about me you should know: I've been making noise electronically since my first accidental discovery of feedback between my ghetto blaster and my sisters. Boy, was I in trouble! I tamed my families fears by joining a local brass band (started on Baritone, then Euphonium), then took up Contrabass around 12 - I think I was the only kid big enough to hold it! I feasted on local AM radio 3CS (Billy, don't be a hero), mum's favorite musicals (Paint Your Wagon), and church hymns (we had an awesome organist). Got a rock band going at school which reconnected me with noise making. Later at school I had my first big musical epiphany - a VCS3. I was hooked. I couldn't at that stage find a course in electronic music, so I took a major in performance at Elder Conservatorium of Music at Adelaide Uni on Contrabass; however, by the end of that degree, the bass lost out to my complete obsession with the electronic music studio. The late, great Tristram Cary (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tristram_Cary) had set up shop there following the implosion of EMS in the UK. How amazing it was to not only meet but study with the person who help create the VCS3. We had modular moogs, vcs3, synthi stuff, and synclavier II (not fully operational, and too expensive to repair). My study coincided with the release of the Yamaha suite of toys - DX7, RX11, TX816, CX5 and SPX90 and FM was my thing for many years. Moved to Melb in early 90's to do a graduate diploma in contemporary music technology in the sadly defunct La Trobe Uni music dept. Simultaneously playing electric bass with a range of groups to pay the rent. Did a national tour of Hair The Musical. Started getting some work designing sound for theatre, live sound gigs, CD production and a whole range of work in community festival production, international theatre touring, music arranging and score supervision in film, and circus. Started teaching about 10 years ago and actually enjoyed it. Working full time now at NMIT in the performing arts department in screen and media and sound production. Looking to the future - I'm designing an awesome Diploma in Sound Production at NMIT Greensborough to launch in 2012. If you're into composing and producing your own music, this course is for you!
