Kilómetro 4.5’s first voyage of sound navigates the airwaves as a compilation of unique tracks from pioneering producers created uniquely for Kilómetro 4.5.

"Compilation Vol. 1" features tracks by Dorisburg, Sebastian Mullaert, Wareika and Kalabrese.

Electronic music stalwart Sebastian Mullaert (Circle of Live/Minilogue) appropriately follows suit with incomprehensible and inimitable levels of depth on his appropriately titled track 'No Menace'. 4x4 kicks lull you into a continuous state of hypnotism that he has come to master over the decades of production he is so well known for.

Ranging between hardware machines and analog sound and inspired by the latin american nature, Cyanea is a new project from the Colombian and Venezuelan artists, Dsum and Mata. Both devotees to the dub-atmospheric and deep electronic music teamed up to create "Strepto Sonaris," their debut EP soon to be available on Monofónicos Netlabel.

Formed in 2022, Cyanea found its creative unity while based in Orlando, Florida. Both artists brought their experiences and cultural backgrounds to the project, resulting in a sonic adventure paying tribute to the steemed atmosphere in the Andean mountains.

The EP features three tracks recorded in collaboration, showcasing their ability to craft substantial compositions pushing boundaries and challenging conventional notions of electronic music. The first two cuts, "Strepto Sonaris" and "Compas," capture the essence of Cyanea's sound, with ethereal melodies and compelling grooves driving listeners straight into a mental numb. On the third track, "Auriceps," they leave the Detroit-inspired slot covered by a well-constructed arrangement that shines with its delightful synth design.

On the other side, Dsum's solo contribution to this release share perspective with the Swedish producer Samuel L Session. Known for his legendary and driving Techno sound, Samuel L brings his interpretation of "Temptation," adding a new dimension to the EP and expanding its sonic palette.

Cyanea's "Strepto Sonaris" releases July 21st via Monofonicos Netlabel.

Grünfeld is dead, long live Grünfeld! Even though, with this “best of” release it’s time to say goodbye to Grünfeld, its spirit will live on through a fine selection of tracks, available on Broque.de from now on. The Grünfeld netlabel always has been a very special treasure in the netlabel landscape and we would like to pay our deepest respect. Founded in 2007 by DML, Philipp Friedrich and Holger Leger, it quickly gained popularity and became a household name. Though DML has been contributor to all seven releases, several other artists have been releasing on Grünfeld, such as Holger Leger, Suedmilch aka Benedikt Frey or Steffen Baldo, to name just a view. Ranging from dub to straighter material, techno in all its diversity always has been the common ground on which Grünfeld tracks used to grow and flourish.
 
„Seven releases in eight years might seem as comparably small output, particularly in comparison with release schedules of other labels. But, without wanting to turn to overused stereotypes, quality rather than quantity has always been the label’s policy. Throughout the entire period, not a single track has been released which didn’t meet the expectations, standards and taste of all three label founders.
 
But as it happens more often than not: life is moving on and the planet keeps on turning. And, once holy priorities change over time. After eight years, keeping up with the own standards became a challenge. And, releasing for the sake of releasing has never been an option for the Grünfeld team. Therefore, the decision was made to retire the label. But not, without making another mark with this “Best Of Grünfeld” release on Broque, which at the same time becomes the new homebase for DML. This is a grand departure which makes space for something new.

After releasing their first two releases on one disc, the third release on Amsterdam imprint Working Titles is a release on its own. Label founders Scott Franka & Kaap are behind the label’s third release that features two epic tracks from the Dutch pair and again finds them exploring new and exciting techno territory with their lively machine jams. 

First track 'Poise I' is a deep and dubbed out techno track with deft synths slowly shapeshifting and bringing sombreness to the quickened groove. It’s late night music to zone you out with sparse but rich detailing to keep your mind occupied and it gets ever-busier over the course of thirteen enthralling minutes. Then 'Poise II' is a 16 minute masterpiece that is watery and dubby. It has undulating synth currents and increasingly textured snares. Building to a peak then pulling back, with occasional freaky vocal sounds and sci-fi motifs, it is a truly cinematic piece that closes out an ambitious EP.

Dsum stands out as a highly versatile producer and sound engineer within the Colombian electronic music scene. As a raver, DJ, and Vinyl Collector in the late 90s, inspired by Hip Hop, Chicago House, and Techno, he started recording music in 2004 and soon after released his debut EP via the renowned Monofonicos Netlabel, quickly followed by his first vinyl release, "Collage EP." 

A sound engineer by profession, he has been involved in the mastering stage of projects for many Latin American producers. Currently based in the United States, he remains dedicated to crafting diverse musical projects for his own labels, Back Door Records and Play Function Issues, with a primary focus on nurturing talents from South America.
